California and Oregon both have one loss. Oregon lost to a top 10 team, and California lost to Oregon.

But that's not all; California didn't just lose to Oregon; they got decimated in a way that is only laughable. How in the frick are they ranked higher than Oregon? This makes 0 sense.

And these are going to count a huge part towards deciding the championship.

frick this shite.

4-0 and unranked.
That poll menas nothing at this point. Auburn is just as good as LSU and they have us ranked #4. I think Auburn, LSU, UGA and OM are all 15-20 type teams. They have us way too high.

Can't wait for all the inevitable "USC is the strongest team at the end of the year/this is why we need a playoff" bs that will be coming out of Southern Cal in December.

Don't take it to hard. If any random person submitted these rankings to me I'd call them retarded and laugh at them.

California > Oregon discredits this entire poll, and Penn State > Iowa only makes it worse.

USC at 7 is pathetic, as is Ohio State at 9. Also, Auburn should definitely be in around number 20 or so.

Miami from 9 to 21 is harsh considering how easy it's been for USC so far.

I believe that it's becoming apparent that preseason rankings should be laid to rest for a minimum of 3 weeks. They serve no purpose but to overrate teams based on nothing but reputation and lower the level of fluidity in polls.

The coaches poll right now deserves to be laughed at.

The AP poll looks pretty decent though, other than missing out on Auburn. I think this just shows that coaches shouldn't be voting since it's not like they are actually watching any games.

They are preparing for their own games, actually playing in a game, conducting postgame interviews, or traveling while all of the games are being played.

I'm slightly irked that Auburn didn't appear around #24, but I'm far more irked at the obvious flaws that any rational person should notice in this poll.

The AP Poll, with all of its criticisms, actually looks better than this pile of garbage.
