re: Interesting chart on media rights and each league’s cost per viewer

A lot of the numbers are off, especially the WNBA, and the methodology is bad.
They WNBA total only increases by 25 percent from whatever the regular viewer watched versus the championship? Meanwhile everything is up 5-7X. There is no way.
Also the appeal of the NBA is how many times you show games per week. That’s being compared to tennis majors. Average viewership is a clunky metric because it doesn’t factor in how many viewings.

The most confusing part of the first post is that at least seven other people upvoted it.

His Piers Morgan clip from last week shows just how seriously he takes his Christianity and how symbols of Christianity definitely aren’t props for him to reach a new audience, now that his Hollywood career is over and his mainstream British pundit career is coming to an end.

Sorsby's decision to seek treatment, according to sources, came in the wake of the discovery of Sorsby making thousands of online bets on a variety of sports via a gambling app, which jeopardizes his eligibility with Texas Tech.
The NCAA is investigating Sorsby's gambling, according to sources, as the organization forbids athletes from betting on both college and pro sports.

No, she wasn’t attractive imo but she was a woman.

Yeah I was going to say that he had one of the highest NIL deals ever.
I strongly suspect that he has some bad news he’s trying to get out ahead of. Very curious if any Cincy games were flagged for suspicious betting.

My high school had a very good track team (multiple state titles) though only a handful of truly elite athletes.
However, there were usually 1-2 kids per class who would do college track and field. The key was that the good performers were scattered across every event: discus, high jump, pole vault 5000 meters, etc.
Anyways in April and May of 8th grade, our PE unit was essentially having us all do like 12-15 track and field events.
The coach would always say “you never know what you’re good at until you try it”.
I remember the 400 meter race very well because it was a brutal event for me, much harder than the mile because you’re going close to all out the entire time. Much tougher than the 100 because it goes on so much longer at nearly the same pace for 4x the duration.
Now I’m not good, but the elites also hate the 400. The best 400 meter runners in the US literally try to move down in events. Some are successful (Fred Kerley), others are unsuccessful (Michael Norman) and begrudgingly win the 400 meter world title because they can’t make the US team for a shorter distance.
The very best 400 meter time from my cohort (granted we were 13-14 years old) was 1:00 flat. A guy who ended up playing D-1 football ran 1:05. I ran a 1:13 and vomited afterward. There were many worse times of course.
Everyone of us was truly winded after doing this 400 meter race once.
Sawe and Kejelcha each did it 105 times in a row
FWIW they averaged 1:08-1:09 for the first 90 percent of the race and then closed at a 1:04 pace.

If Pavia had the personality of Mendoza, I wonder if he would have been drafted.
Even then, I’d say he would have been a very late pick, but I bet he’d get drafted.

Kejelcha is such a versatile and amazing runner, but his resume doesn’t do him justice.
No Olympic medals of any color and never a world champion (though he has silvers).
I bet if you asked 100 experts who is better between him and Mo Farah, 60 percent or more would pick Kejelcha.

Right, as far as I’m aware, Donovan hasn’t said anything about going back to college.
Is he even interested in any college job?
He may be more focused on an NBA job this summer or taking time off and finding the best job that opens up in the next year.

I am curious to see how much tickets will drop.
So far I’m not seeing any clear drop in ticket prices.
For the round of 16 and onwards, there will be demand. For the first round and some second round matches though, we will either see lots of empty seats or a big drop in prices.
I’m actually betting we will see lots of empty seats.

For your first point, I think the only possible cause of death was Floyd drinking the medicine at a lethal level.
I agree they jumped to poisoning too quickly, but I also understand why they didn’t think Richard was culpable.
When speaking with the cops, he assumed Floyd was drinking hard liquor to get drunk and was clearly unaware of what the medication was.
The only way to have killed Floyd would be to coerce him to drink the medication. The easiest way would’ve been to put it in the Bloody Mary mix and hand it to him.
Clearly Richard couldn’t have done that, whereas a lover or spouse could have absolutely pulled that off.
Also Floyd had no cuts, bruises, or other body trauma, so there was no other way to explain his death than his consumption of the fictitious medicine (Amphezine?)
So it was always one of three possibilities, but all with the medicine imo: accidental overconsumption, suicide, or murder.

The suicide felt quite rushed as well.
Floyd is a patient and calm guy who has been used to being a loser for quite some time. The situation with his stepson misunderstanding the situation is going to be tough for him, but he has been a guy willing to talk and be in uncomfortable situations in the past.
After all, Richard smashed him in the junk with a baseball bat a few years ago because his mom cried after an argument, and he took it in stride.
Also the final episode made Carol a much more likable character.

I wonder if it’s suicide, but then his wife messes with the scene to cover up that it was suicide so she could cash in on the life insurance.
That way, Bateman has done nothing illegal while the wife has committed insurance fraud.
That would be an anti-climatic ending though.
At this point, the two people who would shock me are his step-son Richard and Bateman himself.
I think they’ve written a clear character arc where Richard is the only person who truly respects and appreciates him. Bateman clearly likes him, but he definitely pities him as well.

So this will mean 52 automatic bids and 24 teams playing 12 play-in games, as opposed to 60 automatic bids and 8 teams playing 4 play-in games.
It can work if needed, it’s going to require 6 games on Tuesday and 6 more on Wednesday.
Dayton has apparently embraced their role as a host and can do a third set of games each day imo, but they’ll need to find another site for 3 games each on Tuesday and Wednesday for these entirely unnecessary games.
