Upvote. Have mild neuropathy in my feet and walk a ton. These and the Clifton 10’s are the only shoes that feel good, but the Ghost Max 3’s are the best I’ve tried for long walks. Clifton’s are great for casual wear/standing.

Had to study the first movement of the St. Matthew Passion for my theory comprehensive exams. He’s basically writing in both a major and minor key at the same time ant one point and making it sound normal. The fact that he basically spent his entire career as the equivalent of a modern day music minister makes his output even more amazing.

re: Kidney Transplants, Anyone?

I made 7 years post kidney transplant (deceased donor) last week and am going strong with no issues. I have a very healthy/active lifestyle, now a certified Pilates teacher. 2.5 years dialysis prior. If I can answer any questions for you give me a shout @ mceuph75@gmail.com

YES

“You are somewhat trickier to define. After all, you’re one of potentially billions of humans who’ve purchased this tome, who may be reading this exact sentence at this exact moment! So which of these innumerable readers are You? The answer, like the gentle and maligned Tyrannosaur, can only be found by gazing into the past.”

I can’t stop reading.

So definitely something fricky going on with him.

Probably totally off with this, but my gut reaction was that he somehow IS Kier Eagan in a new body, or at least the result of a severance-type procedure or other programming in an attempt to recreate/keep Kier's consciousness going, but they haven't perfected the process yet. That would explain the weirdness/old fashioned language. Would be in line with them revering Kier like a god.
The Fetid Moppets would be an excellent band name.

You know those "Do not remove under penalty of law" labels on mattresses? I rip them off.

Was curious about this myself. I’m only lightly into Dune lore. Was it always an inhospitable prison planet or did it develop into one? I assumed that since the show is 10,000 years before the events of Dune that the planet had not yet undergone some change into its “current” form. Did the Sardukar even exist at this time?

re: Favorite or Best Colombian Coffee?

French Truck Colombian Cauca is very tasty, especially for the price (sub $15 per 12oz). Can find it at Whole Foods in NOLA area and also Fresh Market I think. . If you’re into natural processed coffees, Cherry Espresso in NOLA used to sell a natural process Colombian that I really like, more flowery than fruity, but I’m not sure if they have it anymore. Honestly, Trader Joe’s Colombian Supremo isn’t bad at all. Though not as much flavor as the other two you can’t beat the price for a good basic coffee.
One of my favorite memories as a kid was getting a chili dog from Schweggman’s deli on Airline hwy near David dr. Loved those things.

If it were only a couple of times a week no big deal. But 3 hours every day sounds shitty.

It’s an inconvenience but much better to clean out daily rather than the traditional 3 times a week hemo, which is very rough on the body. I did 8-9 hours every night on a PD machine. Sounds like a lot but it was much more gentle and pretty easy to travel with, they’ll even set up delivery of supplies to your destination.
Started 2.5 years of peritoneal dialysis at age 40, now 6 years post transplant. If you’ve already got offers for a live donor transplant that’s the best news of all. Assuming you have no issues that prevent transplant then you won’t have a long wait to get it done. If you’re doing PD, it’s not that bad (dialysis doesn’t hurt), but you have to be very disciplined and not screw around with the diet and daily machine procedures. You’ll actually probably feel a LOT better once you start. You won’t be able to go swimming unfortunately, but it’s essential that you keep exercising. It’s not a death sentence, especially with offers for donation. If I can answer any questions please send me an email: mceuph75@gmail.com

Wishing you the very best!

The actor or the periodontist?
Sam Harris’s Waking Up app is excellent. Easy to follow, lots of great content to explore, and has a beginner’s course.

It’s not just the OT. At least LSU doesn’t play another military academy this week.
