the irony is that everything about your post is sexist. Softball and tennis are probably the only two women's sports I can watch. Anyway who fricking cares? I'm sure you're a fan of something that's perceived strange by others

The dude obviously had a traumatic experience with softball as a kid. There's no other reason he's solely ripping on it other than to "preserve his man card" or to try and hide his true feelings towards softball.

Don't give a shite if he's an Alabama fan. I get irritated at these type of fans that hate any sport but the major ones. If you're going to field an athletic program, spending money on it, you might as well strive to suceed at it.
Where did I say anything about not trying to be good at it? I said the sport is fricking annoying and I find it odd when seemingly heterosexual middle-aged men are obsessed with it as a fan...just weird/creepy to me, is all.

Gymnastics and volleyball are better to watch than softball

Why are you worried about it?

I find the fascination creepy & weird and cannot relate to these types of people and was looking for an explication but didn't get one other than personal attacks and people saying it's "better than baseball," which is just asinine.

For casual fans I do believe softball is easier to watch. The speed of the game, etc...makes it more casual fan friendly.
Baseball has an issue both at the College and Pro level. They haven't changed well with the times and attitudes of the culture. That being said I do enjoy baseball and easily watch softball as well.

Good points. Thanks for the post. Personally, I hope baseball never makes drastic changes just to appeal to the casual fan---b/c those people are idiots and will eventually leave you for something else anyway---like the NFL, which is a total fricking joke these days, but casual fans love it largely b/c stupid fantasy football, but I digress.

As long as MLB franchises can profit without needing to change anything nothing will change IMO. Football is the perfect casual fan sport, it was as if it was made for a our TV era.
I married a college softball player and can remember the early days of going to games to watch her and being thankful they moved along a rapid pace. It was always enjoyable but they never bogged down.

Which is worse? Being obsessed with women's softball or being obsessed with people who are obsessed with women's softball. Just saying you might won't too look in the mirror it might be you.

So you're a misogynist? Or do you find women who enjoy football and baseball weird as well?

And BTW, Pat Murphy is great---I cheer for Alabama to win, but I sure as hell ain't gonna sit around watching and providing play-by-play commentary on a message board.
You created a TL;DR thread about softball talking shite about people for discussing softball. You're a giant bitch. You would rather disparage people for talking about a sporting event than actually talk about the event. And college baseball doesn't carry half the entertainment value softball does.

Some of you can't handle you're getting made fun of to your face for watching softball.
Posted on 6/4/16 at 1:22 pm to Tom Haverford
There are a lot of fat middle aged men in the stands. Didn't Harvey Updyke traveled from LA to Tuscaloosa for a lot of games?

I haven't seen anyone be ashamed for watching softball. I think you're probably just a limp-armed, misogynistic little twat.

If we're being honest, Florida probably has the most claim of being THE Lady Sports U of the conference, but UGA and Bama are pretty damn good.
