As I said, Tru Johnson was a 2nd round pick and a top 5 CB in the nation last year.

Hunter has taken the likes of Cliff Harris, Brandon Boykin, Kendric Burney, Janoris Jenkins, Tyrann Mathieu, and Casey Hayward deep. No one will dare him with man to man when you can make him work underneath .

fair rankings for preseason but I think Mettenberger will end up in the top 3-4.

I'm going to have to get a homer alter so I can proclaim Zach, Odell and HB as first ever 3 Heisman finalist from same school.

Can't wait for September to come to see if the club will actually open it up or not.

Hunter has proven himself against elite corners in man, not so much against zone. It seems like a pretty good bet that most teams will make Bray pick them apart underneath rather than challenging Hunter one on one.

If the OP ranked him 7 based on 2011 performance, that's too low. If it was because of uncertainty about his injury, OK - we'll see when the season starts.

I can agree with that. Gonna be interested in seeing how Mizzou's O-line handles bigger lines. That will be the difference in what Franklin is able to do I think, along with his healthy return.

I think the O-line will be OK. We just have to make sure the plays develop as they are supposed to so he can get rid of the ball quickly. Slow developing plays won't get it this year.

That is gonna be huge. I expect yall will see alot of man to man this yr, vs more zone and drop coverage that the Big 12 faces regularly. I think the D-line vs O-line size difference will take some adjusting to with some teams. Other teams, I think yall will match up well with.

And that will be an adjustment. It'll help us in some respects, we can play the mismatches more, and give our receivers a chance to beat guys when they line up with 5 (4 + the TE). But, it'll be a challenge in other ways, particularly in line play. It'll be really interesting to see.

I like the summaries for each of them.

Tyler Wilson: The best arm in the SEC. Potentially the number 1 pick in the draft. (Substance, reasoning)

Aaron Murray: Will break multiple UGA records. 6,200 yards 59 touchdowns. Brings the passing game to an already strong run game. (Substance/reasoning)

AJ McCarron- A whole paragraph devoted to....nothing. Says he's not flashy, but hey he tweets at TM7! He's efficient. And has a National Championship. Then goes on to list: experienced and a good game manager.

That's the summary of supposedly the 3rd best SEC QB? If those are the qualifications, too bad Jarrett Lee isn't returning...we'd have a top 5 SEC QB!

I think Bray has more passing ability than AJ but AJ is definitely better than Shaw in every category IMO. I would put AJ at 4 behind Wilson, Murray, and Bray.

The times Shaw did play LY, he didn't impress me but he may do better his 2nd time around. I also think AJ will be better all the way around in his 2nd year.

If AJ would have had a Julio-type reciever last year he would have put up much bigger numbers.

i totally agree. AJ is a stud and i dont see why people are so hesitant to put him into the top qb discussion. for different reasons, not alot separates the #2,3,4 spots to me.

Really? Statistically, it's virtually a dead heat:

Connor Shaw
123/188 65.4% 1,448 yards 7.7 yards per attempt 14/6 148.3 rating

A.J.McCarron
219/328 66.8% 2,634 yards 8.0 yards per attempt 16/5 147.3 rating

Shaw had a lot fewer attampts as he did not become the starter until the 6th game of the season. And when ranking the QB's, you should add in the fact Shaw is a far better runner than McCarron, Bray, Wilson and Murray.
