No one said he sucks. Somewhere in your Bammer mind you made it up that someone on here said it.

I'm not discrediting McCarron for being a great game manager. I'm just saying that he doesn't have as much raw passing ability as some of the other elite quarterbacks

Anyway, no one will be "matched up" against Hunter/Rogers/Patterson because no one will be playing man to man against us

Yes it is, because you guys can't even get over the fact that he made your vaunted Honey badger look bad.
What would McCarron have to accomplish to earn your "respect"?
To earn my respect I want to see Bray Shaw Murray or Wilson lift a Crystal football. Oh wait while I stop laughing.
You don't know me. Now go finish your cheerios.

Banks can man up with anyone in the nation considering he has been a preseason All-american in some lists and potential first round pick

No McElroy wasn't but McCarron isn't McElroy either.

Its just as absurd say McCarron sucks because we aren't a pass firs team
If they did, I sure didn't see it. I bet you're making stuff up.

Tim7105 no doubt, does TideNation proud.

I wouldn't be raising as much hell if I didn't see A.J. perform the way he did in the title game with sub par WR's.

No one will play straight man on Hunter. It makes no sense at all to put that on a corner when you don't have to. Montana had a top 5 corner in the nation last year and they learned their lesson after one series.

I've said quite a few times that AJ had a big jump in performance in the bowl game, and that I think he will keep it and may improve more. . 'Sub par' WR's?...they looked pretty good to me. Let me ask you an honest question. If Wilson starts for UA 11/5 in Tuscaloosa, does the Tide get beat? Or Murray, Bray, Shaw...Maybe this is a better way to shake out a top 5 list from the UA perspective. Personally I think Wilson and Murray win that game.

I have to chime in here about James Franklin. I would think he's somewhere in the top 5 based on what he achieved last year. I'm not familiar enough yet with all the SEC QBs to rank them, but I'm confident in what Franklin has achieved. If the OP ranked him 7 based on 2011 performance, that's too low. If it was because of uncertainty about his injury, OK - we'll see when the season starts.
We don't know for sure how he'll perform after the torn labrum. His recovery and rehab are ahead of schedule, and he should start throwing real footballs in the next week. They believe he'll be 100% or close to it by the start of the season.
That said, I would look for fewer designed run plays for him early in the season. They're going to want to protect that shoulder as much as possible. He'll still run, and the threat will be there on every play, just not designed that was as much. They will probably increase his running as the season goes on. His accuracy improved dramatically through 2011 season, and I would expect that to continue.

1. Wilson
2. Murray
3. McCarron
4. Bray
5. Shaw
6. Franklin
You could flip 2-3 and 4-6. I put Shaw ahead of Franklin only because he's played in the SEC. Almost put AJ ahead of Murray with the poise he showed during the BCSCG.

Good question, with Wilson we win cause we open up the play book imo,Murray maybe, but It's hard to say on the other two cause just haven't beat a real good team yet.

fair rankings for preseason but I think Mettenberger will end up in the top 3-4.
