but more to your point, we got 11 wins but we were not a championship caliber team this year because we didn't have the players we recruited come in and step up to meet the expectations.

Yeah we arent going to be championship caliber either. But we will have a top 15 offense. HTH

I know its ESPN but I just wanted to stop by and at them ranking Mizzou 39th in offense this upcoming season.

This is the same crew that picked Mizzou to lose EVERY game but Kentucky last year in SEC play.

We can agree to disagree. But I'm just glad to get some real discussion out of you.

That call that 'keeping it on the down-low'.

But I went and made a detailed post with regards to why I and probably many other posters think A&M won't be as successful next year as they were last, yet all the aggies crying about all the trolling simply ignored it.

If you want to have honest discussion about football, you should respond to honest posts.

I'm sure your offense will be very good, one of the better o's in the SEC. My earlier point was simply that given the information we have now, it is certainly reasonable to assume that if given the choice you would choose to face this upcoming years aggie offense instead of last years.

Okay lets have this discussion (offense only):

Offensive Line - A&M has a projected #1 overall pick returning to play LT, a 3 year starter returning at LG, 2 year starter returning at center, RS Sophmore returning starter at RT. RG is open tryout to a RS-Senior, RS Junior 2 highly rated JUCOs and a slew of other players.

WR - Returning 3 year starter at the slot and more talent than we've ever seen at the position. We had a walkon that played womens basketball starting last season.

RB - 3 returning RBs - all proven and highly rated

QB - Only true unknown but our options are #1 Overall HS prospect and #1 in Texas.

Combined with the assumed stellar OL and RB play, the QB wont need to be all world.

Serious question, do yall even remember the countless threads saying how JFF wasnt even that good and it was how the OL was unbelievable and how Evans and Swope were the only reason he was any good?

Most on this board didn't take Manziel seriously until he beat Bama, before that he was just racking up stats against bad teams.

Reasonable assumption - I would rather face an unknown aggie offense than a proven top 5 one.

Unreasonable assumption - Aggie offense will take a huge step back because i said so.

Heck yeah.

I have a multiple, multiple paged thread bookmarked where folks claimed Johnny would never make it through last spring/summer to play ball in the fall--and that the idea of him ever playing in the NFL was laughable. It's full of typical Rant comments like, "bank on it," "clearly," "never," "horrible," "sucks," blah blah.

Unfortunately the thread was ultimately locked (shocker I know, being that so many around here comport themselves so gentlemanly), so I'm unable to bump it--which I tried to do a few weeks ago.

Eta: it wasn't a troll thread. Folks were dead serious about their hatred and became very angry. It's why the thread was locked.

As Eddie said, troll threads shouldn't be taken serious on this site.

because when you lose three offensive players at three key positions for your offense a dropoff is to be expected. for any team.

that is what I said a dropoff is to be expected. Maybe your players will step up, maybe they will not. I expect a dropoff until proven on the field for Alabama and any other team.

They werent troll threads. After Evans went for 280 on bama, people were questioning who was really the star JFF or Evans.

the rant is wrong a whole lot. Actually about nearly nearly everything, don't celebrate it like it is some sort of achievement to prove the rant wrong.

Thats the thing, i do not expect any dropoff (I dont consider top 5 to top 15 a dropoff). I will be surprised if we do not continue to have an elite offense.

[This] is not me celebrating.

Not only is the rant wrong "a whole lot," they're usually wrong to the extent where--if I was placing a bet--I'd put money on the exact opposite of what most of these kids predicted.

well I was using dropoff as in you will not be quite as good as you were last year.

It is possible you could exceed last year if you have everyone step up, and if so congratulations. But that is fairly rare and considering the type of talent JFF was I would be more than shocked if there wasn't some level of dropoff simply due to inexperience at QB.
