One, his head is awfully close to "leading."
"Awfully close" in a blurry arse still picture. Obviously guilty.

And two, Murray is a good bit away from the play.
What, like 6 yards? You didn't show the ballcarrier in that pic. Epic fail.

I've watched the play 20 times since it happened. First off Dial hit him with his shoulder first. But there was without a doubt plenty helmet to helmet and it should have been called as such. Btw the hit AJ took was straight helmet to fricking face. Moving on...idc what you think Murray was doing, he was jogging over to the play and if HaHa gets about 3 yards farther Murray would have been RIGHT BY THE PLAY. He was close as it is. Dial had every right to lay him out but should have used less helmet.

Haven't QBs always been targeted on these type plays? Hell iv seen the ball carrier hunt down the QB in these situations and lay them out. I believe A. Rogers got crushed the other day. Don't get near the play if you don't want to get hit.

Pro QB's will get to the sideline with a quickness. They know better

Because we have the NC coming up and there's no way Dial should be suspended for make a clean legal hit just because it was too rough

Aaron Murray pass intercepted by Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix at the Alab 18, returned for 35 yards to the Geo 47.

He's a whopping 3 yards from where the return ended up.

Yes. It's quite common, because this is your golden opportunity to jack up a qb. Everyone in this thread knows that or they don't watch much football or they're very young and the recent NFL pansy way of doing things has made them idiots.

If this wasn't Alabama, and it was just two random arse teams, it would be posted on the MSB and people would say damn what an awesome block and no one would think twice.

All dawg fans agree with this, most Bama fans don't.

Everyone pretty much agrees with this.

looks to me like he led with his shoulder:

obviously when you hit someone in the chest with your shoulder their chin is going to go down as their head continues, for a second, to move in the original direction it was going - which was jogging toward the projected path of the ball. Obviously he's not defenseless as his shoulders are squared up with Dials.

It does appear that Dials helmet comes in contact with the bottom corner of the facemask but it appears to happen more as a consequence of Murrays head snapping towards Dial as he is driving his shoulder into his chest.

I'm a Bama fan & I'll admit that the prob should have drawn a flag. He cracked Murray in the face with the top of his helmet.

What I take issue with is the SEC suspending a player just bc they're embarrassed that their pathetic refs got the call wrong & then the commentators made a huge issue out of it. Fact: if the ref would have made the right call - there would be no suspension talk right now.

I keep comparing it the NFL, but that's because I watch mostly NFL and that's what I have to draw from.

That hit probably would not earn him a suspension in the league, it would probably be a 20k fine, but you obviously can't fine an unpaid college athlete, and yeah, they're probably embarrassed he didn't draw a flag.

Damage control.

I agree with most I think. It should have been called, but no suspension.

Or just teach your defenders not to make helmet to helmet hits.
