TRussell is out with a concussion I hear which hurts. Add to the fact that despite their oline seeming pretty dominant early against OSU, they did not run the ball or pass the ball well. Credit should be given for going against OSU but the fact is, OSU is not a defense first team. The loss is acceptable but to only score 3 points, that is sad and rough hence last place

I don't disagree with your assessment at all. However, TR being out may be the best thing for us. We still run a "read option" with TR in the game except there is virtually no chance of him keeping it. OSU realized that and we never adjusted. We kill ourselves trying slow developing play action on pass downs, and by the time TR gets done with all of the faking there are defenders in his face. Dak at least gives us the ability to escape the pocket and create on the move. If TR is going to be our QB, we need to stop with all of the read option faking and just let him stand back there and sling it.

I wouldn't expect you to see it any other way.

JD had one drop and two tipped at the line or he would have been close to 90%. Of course, the ifs and buts don't work the other way around.

UF was in total control of the game and JD did fine. We didn't show much in the way of pre snap motion or much of the play book. I'm happy with what he did.

TCU = great defense

I too had to re-read the title of the thread.

Can't really argue against it - rankings look pretty spot on after week one.

i'm plenty critical of LSU players

well tipped balls don't equal drops. Mett's two drops may have both gone for touchdowns and hit the receiver in stride 40 yards downfield.

i don't disagree. Mett was near perfect and made some ridiculous throws. He was the best player on the field. Some of Mett's incompletions were his best plays (the 2 spikes on screen plays, 2 throws out of the back of the endzone, etc.) The touchdown pass thrown at the end was so perfectly placed, that landry caught the ball despite having both arms held

It was the exact opposite of the last few years. Mett set up the running game. He made around 5 throws that were sensational, even for a Drew Brees type player

Carta Samuels is an upgrade over Rodgers. First time a Vandy qb has thrown 300 yards since 2006. And don't discount him because of Jordan Matthews.

You must not watch a lot of OM games. He's got plenty of arm.

I thought ACS was freaking excellent. One of the reason we didn't get much pressure is because he was getting rid of the ball on time and on target. This guy is an upgrade.

Spurrier doesn't seem to blow teams out but they always seeem to put the right amount of points on the board to dominate

I think its safe to say after jumping out to a decent lead early Spurrier was content with keeping most of the playbook sealed until UGA.

Bro Wallace's ability to run the zone read is unbelievable. For a guy who has limited mobility compared to others running this type of offense, he is easily more productive. He can make the throws necessary to keep the passing game viable and Treadwill will continue to improve. HUNH also plays in their favor, especially with Wallace's ability to run the zone read

I saw it as Vandy could not defend the zone read at all. I could not understand how Vandy could not grasp it knowing it was coming. A team is going to keep doing something until you stop it and Vandy did not particularly on Wallace's right end... that guy got sucked in by the RB every time. If he just contains the end he blows that play up.
