A&M now has to win this weekend. Have to beat the other bubble teams in order to squeak in. Have to hold serve at home. That is just to be in the discussion again.
We probably have to win 2 of our last 3 to be in. We might get in just winning 1, but they would be very dicey. Win 2 of our last 3, we're in.

Texas, UK, and LSU. Winning two of those three is doable but not a slam dunk either. I expect Texas to get a lot of calls at A&M this weekend. We've already beaten them once and the conference would prefer a split

3 of these teams(Mizzou, A&M, Auburn) wont get dinged with a loss to Bama with Bediako, when the COMMITTEE discusses their resumes.

They also lost to Texas and LSU lol. But yes as I said they are likely already in…
Auburn probably done now though, which is deserving

Aren't dumb fans equivalent to t-shirt fans? I feel like we've had this discussion before

What seated teams get in? I thought everybody in conference got in. My bad if I am wrong as I may be.

Not at all. Not all dumb fans are new, and vice versa.

Ken, I'll take things that South Carolina fans don't have to worry about for $400...

SEC locks:
Florida
Alabama
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Tennessee
Should make it:
Kentucky
Georgia
Bubble:
Texas (36 Net, 17-11, q1/2 record 8-10)
TAM (43 Net, 19-10, q1/2 record 8-10)
Mizzou (54 Net, 20-9, q1/2 record 10-9)
I still have not wrapped my head around exactly how net is calculated. Missouri has a better overall record and better record against q1/2 teams than the other two, but has the lowest net. Texas is the only team with a “bad” loss, a loss to a q3 team, yet they are the highest rated.
And somehow Auburn still has a respectable net of 39 despite being 15-14 overall, 7-13 against q 1/2 teams, and having a q3 loss. I think teams should be rewarded for playing a tough schedule. But there is no way Auburn should be in the top 40.

Conference wants Texas in and A&M out. A&M doesn’t deserve a spot after losing this weekend. Something happened with this team because the offense has completely changed in a month or so. Too bad because Texas doesn’t deserve one either. SEC is just meh this year.

Is GA out if they lose their last 2 and lose their first SEC tourney game?
Posted on 3/1/26 at 9:20 am to Gator Fever
Probably not. It is a weak field this year outside of the one’s.

I think it's more than fair to say Texas is one of the top 40-45 teams in the country to earn an at-large berth. A&M is borderline but probably also deserving as well at the end of the day

They are garbage tier. They have beaten nobody. Honestly only three or four SEC teams should get in. Florida is the only one with a shot against the elite teams.

Texas is tied for 11th in the country in quad 1 wins, but sure: "garbage tier" that has "beaten nobody"
You are one cranky aggie this morning

Texas couldn’t get out of the first weekend.

NET intentionally does not reflect quality of wins and losses.
That's what Q1-Q4 records are for and also Wins Above Bubble (WAB). And WAB is probably the most reflective of any of these in where the committee actually seeds teams.
NET is mainly just opponent adjusted performance stats that do not consider wins or losses.
For example, if your season was playing Duke 10 times and losing all 10 games 85-83 but thereby having almost the same stats as them your NET would be almost the same as theirs.
If you beat 10 mediocre teams 85-83, you're NET would be almost the same as those mediocre teams.
NET is supposed to accompany quality wins and losses and not necessarily reflect them.

I love the tears. Keep 'em coming!

Net seems to be the most emphasized metric when they compare different bubble teams though.
