All 16 schools have at least one NC in the Big 3 sports. Florida & LSU* are the only two schools to have at least one NC in each sport. A dropped fly ball in the 2018 CWS cost Arkansas the chance to become the 3rd school.

54 Football National Titles
(14 of 21 since 2000)
Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma

18 Alabama 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020

7 Oklahoma 1950, 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1985, 2000

6 Tennessee 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998

4 LSU 1958, 2003, 2007, 2019
4 Texas 1963, 1969, 1970, 2005

3 Florida 1996, 2006, 2008
3 Ole Miss 1959, 1960, 1962
3 Texas A&M 1919, 1927, 1939

2 Auburn 1957, 2010
2 Georgia 1942, 1980

1 Arkansas 1964
1 Kentucky 1950

22 Baseball National Titles
(10 of 21 since 2000)

6 LSU 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009
6 Texas 1949, 1950, 1975, 1983, 2002, 2005

2 Vanderbilt 2014, 2019
2 South Carolina 2010, 2011
2 Oklahoma 1951, 1994

1 Mississippi State 2021
1 Florida 2017
1 Georgia 1990
1 Missouri 1954

12 Basketball National Titles
(3 of 21 since 2000)

8 Kentucky 1948, 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998, 2012

2 Florida 2006, 2007

1 Arkansas 1994
1 LSU 1935 *

* LSU claims a national championship for the 1934–35 season, but not on the basis of any determination by an external selector or outcome of any contest purporting to determine a national champion.

PS: I know Texas & Oklahoma aren’t in the SEC yet.. but you will say it anyways, so frick off in advance!

Alabama running into juggernauts Texas and LSU in Omaha cost them in 1983 and 1997 as well.

You have to give a lot of credit to Arkansas for having strong athletics. It's a state with just 3 million people and their flagship university consistently competes with the rich schools in big states.

The big 3 would be football, basketball, and women's basketball.

Tennessee has 2 national titles in football.

They started claiming 4 more out of nowhere

Stolen from another thread

quote:

In 1938, Tennessee went 11-0 and won the Orange Bowl, yet did not finish as #1 in either the AP or UPI poll. They did finish #1 in several other polls, like Houlgate, Dunkel, and Billingsley. These are some of the very same "retroactive" polls that are used as ammunition to discredit Alabama's titles. TCU was also undefeated and won the AP title.

In 1940, TN went 10-1 and LOST in the Sugar Bowl. Losing in a bowl game has widely been used as a means of discrediting Alabama's claimed titles, but we see here that TN uses the same system. Tennessee's national title is based on their recognition by Dunkel and Williamson, NOT the AP or UPI. Minnesota and Stanford were also BOTH UNDEFEATED in the 1940 season.

In 1950, Tennessee went 11-1, which was the same record that Kentucky had that year, though Tennessee did beat Kentucky. They did, however, lose to a Mississippi State team with a losing record. Oklahoma also had 1 loss and was awarded BOTH the AP and UPI titles, but Tennessee claims this one anyway.

In 1951, Tennessee (10-1) won the AP title, despite the fact that Michigan State AND Maryland were both undefeated and untied. Georgia Tech and Illinois were also both undefeated, though each team had a tie. So, among the 5 teams that claim some form of a national title in 1951, Tennessee was the only team with a loss.

In 1967, Tennessee went 9-2 and lost in the Orange Bowl. USC and Oklahoma were both 10-1, and USC claimed BOTH the UPI and AP titles. In the Orange Bowl, the Volunteers faced Oklahoma and lost. So, despite finishing with 2 losses and losing to a team with a better record (remind anyone of 'Bama in 1941?), Tennessee claims a title for 1967.

The 1998 Tennessee team, though perhaps the luckiest team to ever win a BCS title (even compared to '02 Ohio State and '07 LSU), earned arguably the only completely legitimate title for the Volunteers
.

Strictly talking about baseball. Overlooked the context.

So that being said, 1976 Alabama had a great basketball team that lost in the NCAA tournament to the eventual undefeated champs, Indiana. Does that save face?

Thank you, Sir.

Glad y'all won a natty and don't have to hear that shite anymore. It's impressive when y'all compete as well since you have to split your 3 million up with ole pissy.

Great, so now Tennessee is claiming national championships when they didn't even win the conference?

They just won the most SEC titles this season.
Was #1 in baseball all year and won both SEC titles.
Won softball SEC title.
Won SEC soccer title.
Made the Elite 8 and gave Baylor a better game than either Final 4 team.
Had great seasons in all the little sports.

Still have the most National Titles (all sports) in the SEC.

Men and Women's track both won Triple Crowns in the SEC this year.

That’s why Florida’s all around the best athletic department in the SEC. Arkansas is second, and they’d be my pick to win it all in the big 3. I thought it would’ve been this year, but they UGA’d that shite up again.
