LSU-OM, Florida & Texas have led the way. It’ll only climb higher once Bama & Georgia get into the heart of their schedules.

Agreed, the 9 game schedule plus Texas OU have made it the absolute must watch conference. Taking viewers from everyone else.

LSU carrying the conference's water with 3 of the top 10 highest TV ratings games so far this season. You're welcome Sankey
ETA: and 8 of those top 10 rated games are games that fall under the SEC media rights. The only 2 exceptions were Wisconsin @ Notre Dame and Oklahoma @ Michigan. Yet somehow the B1G ended up with a far better payout for their media rights package compared to what Sankey negotiated for the SEC

I like Lane, but the viewership is because he's a troll and you've played Clemson and Ole Miss (obvious drama there). My wife and millions of others enjoy watching "The Real Housewives" series and their streaming numbers are pretty good, too

B1G shot their wad and SEC will crush them in the next round because of the decision to put SEC on ABC all day and go to 9 games, thereby having a lineup that kills the B1G every weekend.

You’re new here. He is a dufus, even Stankey knows he’s a moron.
I can only assume the REC runs the SEC behind the scenes, and Stankey is their useful idiot. Otherwise his employment makes absolutely no sense.

And yet big10 still more lucrative.
Yes fire Sankey.
Yes fire Sankey.

The big 10 has been shitting on Sankey for several years now. SEC agrees to 9 game conference schedule with power 4 mandate, Big 10 doesn't. Big 10 gets a bigger media rights deal than the SEC. Guess what happens next? Big 10 will get its 24 team playoff

I honestly can't tell when some of the LSU fans on here are being serious sometimes or if they're parodying themselves.
The Week 1 Clemson game was the only remotely interesting game between two traditional programs that entire weekend, and it was the 7:30 ABC game of the week.
The Ole Miss game was supposedly the Game of the Century, and it did 50 percent less than the game on ABC in the same time slot the week before it.
The Texas A&M game likewise was the ABC Primetime Game of the Week and only did 5.8 million, which is pitiful for the 7:30 ABC game.

Why do you say that? SEC and B1G viewership numbers were much closer before the last round of negotiations. Their alumni and geographic footprint is fricking massive. B1G sold their content off piece-wise and made more than the SEC who decided to sell bulk to ABC, and obviously buying in bulk commands a discount.
The result today though is that the SEC added two premier brands and a 9th game, and is now killing the diluted B1G.

Also he made this smart decision. I wonder which west coast team it was?
