This looks terribly bad for the Nebraska State Patrol. If the evidence backs up their claim, so folks are getting fired. Having said that:

Haven't paid much attention the last decade or so I guess?

I recently retired from working 18 years in a state level law enforcement agency (not a sworn officer). A part of my job was scouring social media for people involved in cases. They put EVERYTHING out there for all the world to see. Heck we had one case where people committing multi-state medicaid fraud involving millions openly discussed it and even traded information on completely public social media profiles.

Never underestimate how stupid people can be when it comes to social media.

NSP takes complaints seriously and has a thorough process to diligently review each case.

“When it is a high profile person making the complaint, there is video or audio evidence, and/or public pressure builds and we are forced to.”

Also, police dogs are shite. We accept drug hits (not that there was one here) from an animal with which we cannot communicate and one that can easily be trained to hit on its handler’s command. Police rarely to never release numbers of false alerts (gosh, I wonder why) but most numbers available show at best a 50/50 chance of actual possession.

Generally you acquiesce to a search or an officer citing “reasonable suspicion” detains you. Good luck proving there was no reasonable suspicion.

Marcus left his job at Carolina because he wanted to see the world. Bet he is rethinking that now.

Felt like it some times.

Now I'm a part time EMT. Back then I was in the IT field doing computer forensics among other things.

That’s oddly specific. Hopefully they were wearing body cams so this will be clarified

There are tons of honest cops. There are also tons of dishonest cops. I know, from having a bad experience with Montgomery police after I was involved in a traffic accident that took the life of my wife. Give a gun and badge to some of the arse-holes and they think they're Wyatt Earp. My respect for Montgomery police is very low.

That's sad. Hell that would not happen in the south. Alabama/Arkansas/Louisanna/etc State Patrol pulls Lattimore it'd be like. "License and insurance, sir. Damn! You Marcus Lattimore?? Really sorry about your knee. You was a helluva player. Y'all slow it down a bit and have a nice day."

To be fair, the rant is about the extent of my "social" media.

Other than leaving out taking the mandatory selfie with him, you nailed it.

Marcus has always seemed like a good guy, but one thing nobody has mentioned is that good guys are often led astray by bitch arse women. We will see if everything they are saying is 100% accurate and they didn't leave a word out here or add a word in there.

Either this police force will come out of this with a burned arse, or Marcus is a punk for letting his wife run the show and drag him down this path. There really isn't much middle ground after someone makes this accusation in such a dramatic fashion.

I’ll take the Latimore’s side if I had to wager. There is an alarming percentage of idiots in this country & unfortunately a portion of those have a badge & carry a gun.

We are at their mercy to a large degree & the abuse of authority is certainly not limited to scenarios based on demographics.

Do you know anything about his wife or are you just making a potentially huge assumption?
