Once again, how exactly does that equate that your wasn't a top 15 program?
OK,I'll do this very slowly for you.Your programms success feom 2001 to 2011 was obvoiusly out of the norm and closer to a top 5 program.DO YOU UNDERSTAND MY POINT???
Top 15 is were LSU belongs traditionally and where I'm sure it will return.

I don't think anyone would argue that LSU hasn't been an elite program since 2001, that was kinda my point. LSU has been consistently decent/good, but the 2001-present has been an anomaly rather than the norm. It's easy to manipulate numbers by cherry picking time periods. Who knows whether the Tigers progress forward, but chances are that you don't for many reasons. But you'll find no argument from me that LSU will be good for the foreseeable future; being elite is another question altogether.

Top 10 (no particular order)
Notre Dame, Alabama, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Tennessee
Top 11-13 (no particular order)
LSU, Auburn, Georgia
Of these programs, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, and Tennessee are spinning their wheels right now while LSU has been among the Top 5 for the last decade. Won't be long before LSU passes up Georgia and Tennessee and takes its rightful place among the Top Ten programs in CFB history.

Well, the success we've had in the last 15 years really just isn't sustainable. Since 2003, we're like one game away from an .800 win percentage. Michigan and Notre Dame, are the most successful CFB programs of all time, and they are sitting at .730 for the lifetime of their programs.
I'm just trying to enjoy the ride now because there are darker times ahead... just hopefully not as dark as the black hole of the '90s.

Exactly. It's not a point of LSU is on a decline, it's like you said, that success just isn't sustainable long-term. I think Les is entering the sunset of his career there and the next hire and leadership by your AD is critical. I've seen firsthand what it's like to have shitty leadership that made shitty hires. Hell, our current coach hasn't proven anything other than recruiting yet. It would take a while for someone to kill all the momentum that LSU has.

Can you please list those 'many reasons' -- I can't wait to hear your insight

And finally on page 15 we have Tennessee fans explaining why the sun has set on LSU, THE State school from the state that produces the most NFL talent per capita in the country. It's all over now. Les Miles was the Indispensable Man. Nothing but 6-6 type seasons from here on out.
Had I known that being number three historically in the conference would make Tennessee fans this mad, I'd have done it earlier.

I apologize for trying to have some sort of legit discussion on here...I forget where I'm at sometimes.
I'll bow out and let you gentlemen have at it.

If it's no particular order, let's do it like this:
Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Tennessee.
Just for the hell of it.

Actually a much more scientific and better number would be per participant (why in the world would you take into account the number of females for this number)
Alabama,Florida and Georgia all rank above Louisiana in this number. Also in per particpant FBS signees,Florida and Georgia rank above Louisiana...Georgia alone produces over 120 more FBS signees than Louisiana.
By no means has the sun set on the program but you're also NOT gonna win at an almost .800 clip like you did from 2000 to 2011...no way in hell especially with the rest of the SECw improving.

You can't be a top 10 alltime program with no history beyond 2000. Which is what you said. You said lsu history didn't start until 2000.

Southern Cal is not a state school...but your statement makes sense since most big time prgrams have been and always will be state schools.

Well this harmless post seemed to piss in the cheerios of some UT fans.

Yeah, I really wanna be a fan of a team that won a whopping one more game than us last year. Yeah, I'm dying to be a fan of team that is historically not as good as UT. And It would be killer to be a fan of a university that is from a state that pretty much smells like sewage. I'm not a fan of stagnate, smelly water or shitty roads

I never realized how MAD Vols fans were about this.
So mad.
So mad.

It's a significant difference too.
Meanwhile, we're closer to them than they are to LSU.
