The Saints are not very good historically.

I'm just curious, damn.

Some people move? I grew up 50 miles from Dallas and was a Cowboys fan, naturally. But I've lived in MS 31 years, Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry, then fired the (to him) insignificant coach who won two Super Bowls in a row, the Saints hired Sean Payton, and there ya go. For others, though, you're a bit myopic. What if you grew up in Arkansas? Or for that matter Alabama? Who should they pull for?

Because the Saints have won a SB more recently. Not that hard to figure out.

LSU won a NC in 2007 and everyone didn't convert.

I don't see how a southerner not from LA would choose New Orleans over Atlanta

My dad was a fan. So I became one too. I just pulled for them cuz they use to be terrible. Then Alabama and the saints won it all in the same year. Hell yeah. I also like the falcons. So frick everybody.

The Cowboys were HUGE for a long time. And there were plenty og Houston Oiler fans and then there were plenty of Tennessee Titan fans.

I never said they weren't, I was talking about the South in reference to SEC fans being fans of the Saints, Texas isn't a southern state.

LA and Arkansas is different due to the proximity of Texas.

Same reason the Saints would pull in fans from LA, MS, Bama.

The Falcons from TN, Bama, GA

etc.

I even enjoy watching cam play on Carolina's team. For the most part I just love watching football.

I would assume the Falcons, the Cowboys, the Saints or the Oilers.

I'm simply asking why the people who chose the Saints chose the Saints.

I am an LSU fan, but not a Saints fan. Does the same apply?

arkie is in the Cowboy's tv market. I know because I live there. Most people here like them and not the Saints. Seems like a lot of corndogs have moved up here because of that oil and natural gas boom or whatever.

While I see your point, one could also wonder why the people from "neutral" states didn't choose another team.

Depends on where you grew up.

In football it is a mix of Oilers/Titans, Cowboys, Chiefs, some old people follow the Cardinals, some are Rams fans.

Same in baseball: Cardinals, Royals, Rangers, Astros, Braves, some old people still follow the Os from when they were the Browns in St. Louis.

There are a lot of Saints fans here in the Panhandle. I'm a Jags fan myself though.

Meh, I live in a "neutral" state, and have for a while.

You should be glad they picked the Saints and stuck it out for the most part.

Everyone here is a Yankees/Lakers/49ers fan. Sidewalk college fandom is split between USC, Nebraska, Alabama, and Notre Dame.

I'm not a Falcons fan. I'm a lifelong Redskins fan. I just dislike the Saints.

The Cowboys are "America's team". Or at least they were.

North as opposed to west? Both border LA. And I could very easily see an Arkansas fan being a Falcons fan. And defintely a Cowboys fan. Hell, everyone loved them, and Arkansas has no in-state team, and the Cowboys were dominate for quite a while.

One idiot came up with that 'nickname' and the idiot Cowboys fans ran with that shite. They were redneck America's team. That's about it.

I seriously doubt most on here have stuck it out.

Agree completely. But I originally became a Lakers fan because I was a kid and they rocked P&G AND they had Shaq.
