Maybe, but only because of the huge population here.

You westies don't give UG enough sidewalk cred. There's almost no GT sidewalkers so the entire state is UG fans for the most part. Red is the top selling color men's panties there and GA is the only state that sells men's panties. I'd never heard of men's panties before reading that stat somewhere. Anyway, GA is covered with barking bafoons from North to South.

believe it or not, vandy has been attracting quite a few fans as of the last few years. and they pretty much never attended a class.

a&m has also. a bunch of the itinerant lawn mowers around here seem to have abandoned their UT headgear and now sport aggie stuff. I would move them up as high as #7. and I have as much proof as anybody.

BAMA is clearly number 1. Florida is probably 2, LSU 3 UGA 4 UT 5 auburn 6

Says the LSU fan. I could make a valid argument that LSU is much higher than bama because bama competes with Auburn in the state. Easily over 95% of the State of Louisiana is an LSU fan. 75% of those people never stepped foot on campus, except for Saturday.

Auburn is really low in that list. I know some don't want to admit it, but Alabama is a relatively small state, and Alabama dominates the non-college crowd in the state. Auburn picks up a handful of sidewalk folks from GA, but not very much.

The chances of you being an Auburn fan without close ties to the school are next to zero outside of Alabama, and pretty low in state, especially when compared to other schools.

Well, everyone does like to follow a winner and one that's won a NC in every decade. Basically, Bama is the friggin' Yankees of CFB. You either love us or hate us... there is no in between.

<---- Ole Miss fan that did not attend Ole Miss.

I did work at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, but that does not count.

That's not true. I don't hate the team like I hate the entire Yankees organization. I hate the stupidity of your fan base there's a distinct difference.

I'll blow your mind. The majority of Alabamians do not identify themselves as only Bama fans. The same could not be said for LSU or Arkansas or Tennessee in their respective states.

It counts that you are a fan especially if you live in Mississippi. Your tax dollars support that school

The vast majority of Alabamians who are Auburn fans did not go to school there.

are you asking me? I am talking percentage. I cannot address the total numbers nationwide. I've never seen such a poll

Much higher percentage than the other Big 6 schools, especially among those who are semi-devoted fans. Alabama has a lot of truly dedicated, spend money fans who have no connection to the school. Auburn doesn't have that, though we admittedly have plenty of no-connection fans who would self-identify as AU fans.
