Experts say Aubie and LSU are both overrated and underrated! Is that a no win or no lose situation for all these Tigers?

It means Auburn is going to win the SEC

I feel like where a bit overrated but this would be the first time in the Jimbo era that we are. We’ve been massively underrated every year he has been here in the preseason rankings.

Overrated, the answer is always Texas.

Yet only a 10 point win.

Without one of our best receivers and other players due to COVID.

Kinda like how we torched your team when they came up here.

You're right. I prefer a 4 point margin victory to a 10.

These national "experts" are so out of touch.

They got Carolina finishing between 5-8 in the East, but 247 says Carolina has the 4th most talented roster in the East.

I agree - there is no way you finish that high in the East

Just a lazy analysis. Essentially Sailee looked at A&M's team last year and assumed every player that is gone will be replaced by someone lesser and none of the players that are returning will improve. That might make sense if you didn't actually look at recruiting or practice reports.

I guess we will see but Jimbo had some insane offenses at FSU. It's all about what he has at QB. Mond was a good QB but he wasn't some unbelievable playmaker. He would always take the checkdown pass and he got very fearful of throwing pics to the point where he took very few chances. Last year outside of one game that was just fine. A&M had a great defense and running game and could just wear teams out.

This year the D quality is there and the running game is all back. It's really all about Haynes King. One thing King is not is stodgy. He's going to make plays with his feet. He's going to throw deep. He's not afraid to take chances. The key is can he do that without turning the ball over. I would not bet against him.

WHILE both teams return a lot, and had some very good transfers.

Palm's MSU analysis is pretty lazy. MSU finished 5th in the SEC in defense, and quite a few points given up were Pick-6's on the offense. MSU played the last 5 games with ~45 scholarship players, 5 true freshmen and a redshirt freshman on offense, and a true freshman and a walk-on on defense. He said he didn't want to draw conclusions from a Covid year and then did just that.

It's because of lazy journos like him that State has been the most consistently UNDERRATED team in the SEC over the last decade.

I don't feel like digging up the numbers, but we finish on average something like 1.5-2 spots ahead of where they pick us in the SEC west standings over the last decade.

Keep it coming, I guess. I'm no saying we will be world beaters this year by any means, but we return most of a pretty good defense and almost all of our offense after a year where they had like two weeks to put in a new system and were almost all freshmen in a system where repetition and perfection are required to be successful.

How about that 2018 game where the SEC referees bailed you out?

Miss State defense is going to be very good and the offense is going to be much better.

Also, we will beat KY and that is a guarantee

It was good last year. We were ranked #5 in the SEC in total defense. I saw where Jerry Palm was the "expert" who wrote this. These tools don't know anything about any teams except the big names. He says State was giving up points. We were 6th in the SEC in total points allowed and much of that came from pick sixes and turnovers. He can say what he wants about Leach, but Arnett and that defense was damn good and will be better. He does bowl projections but doesn't even know how the contracts or system works. Tool.
