DIAF, KYS, drink bleach, additional generic insult
Anyways, if/when we go to 16 teams, would these 2 teams be acceptable options?
I live and work in Raleigh now, so I say frick yes to getting NC State in.

As someone who lived in Richmond for 12 years. I hope to NEVER see VA tech in the SEC. I think they are a poor fan base, and would at best be a middle of the road team in football, and bad in every other sport. Half of their fan base turns into Duke or UNC fans during basketball season. Is that who we really want? I really like the idea of NC St. They have basketball tradition and if I'm not mistaken are pretty decent at baseball now. I think football(granted I still don't think they would be any higher than middle of the road either) and basketball(can only help SEC basketball) can only improve for them getting out from UNC's shadow.
If they really want the DC market, couldn't they still achieve that by going after UVA or Maryland.
I still think it would be a good idea for the SEC to offer FSU so as to keep the Big 12 from getting into FL for recruiting

Yes and the most likely.
In the event the ACC were to implode, UVA and UNC are most likely B1G bound (maybe taking Duke with them), while Wake is the East Coast Baylor with no RG3 or Brittney Griner to get them publicity. UVA/UNC would have to move first (for political reasons).

I still think a decently strong ACC is important or this reason. No need to destabilize them and let the B1G or the Big 12 poach off the stronger pieces.
However, I don't think it is smart to add Florida State, yet if the SEC was going to add a team within its current footprint this would seem the most logical.
I still think this mad grab stops, and the 16 team super conference doesn't happen. I think the SEC goes to 9 or 10 conference games before it jumps to 16 teams. Adding more teams won't do much at this point, imo.

he is the CFN writer who covers the SEC. Not a hack writer.
LINK
Why he didnt use college football news to post the story-not sure.
It is speculation, but it is not off base. If the ACC is weakened, would Slive let the Big 12 take a team he may want.

Nonetheless, even a blind pig can find an acorn on occasion.
I actually think the article gets it right. If I were grand poobah in charge of SEC expansion, those would be my two preferred teams that we might actually have a shot at getting.
I.e., I think the SEC would really want two teams from Virginia and N. Carolina. I don't think any of the other ACC teams in those states would even consider the SEC because of the basketball heritage.

I think that's the goal too because of the pending SEC Network. Add more markets.
