SECw versus SECe record is 7-7 entering the SECCG. Bama, LSU, aTm trio for the west and UGA, UF, and USCe for the east is a good cross-divisional balance. Fitting that final inter-divisional bragging rights rest on the SECCG.

Very good year. I agree. The SEC isn't down, just more level.

After how many overtimes is it considered a tie?

cross-division scheduling:

UGA played none of the 3 from the West
UF played 2 of the 3 from West
USCe played 2 of the 3 from West

Bama played none of the 3 from the East
LSU played 2 of the 3 from the East
ATM played 1 of the 3 from the East

Gotta love that balanced scheduling SEC.
No question we got the two best teams in.

I think everyone can agree that Florida and LSU had the most unbalanced and unfavorable schedules. And it will happen to LSU again next year too.

The only difference between Florida and LSU is you don't see Florida fans over here bitching about it.

Perhaps because they won them both. Guarantee you if they ran the gauntlet in the East and lost to A&M and LSU, you would be hearing about it.

We are disgusted by the pass GAg has gotten the last two years.
There is no doubt in my mind the SEC office did it to try to win another NC with yet again a different SEC team. GAg is talented, no doubt, but they have Helen as a coach. They will lay an egg.

LSU feels the same about another team--this year and next year. But that is just our fans whining.

There is no question that the LSU fans are right about the schedule inequity. There is also no question that the whining has increased to an insane level.

Florida has a MUCH bigger complaint than LSU. They played all the tough teams and lost ONE turnover-fest to UGA, and saw their national title hopes all but end because of one game. LSU lost TWO games, including a straight up head to head home game with Alabama. Even if Alabama had played Florida and lost, you still can't make a case why you should go ahead of A&M.

Still be a 3 way tie and the same argument could be made about Alabama.

The SEC is far superior to what it was last year. The third best team was Arkansas, and that team would be 7th or 8th in the 2012 SEC.

Actually I think SC had the hardest schedule of the bunch, given all the road games they had to play. I think the fact that UGA and UA had the easiest schedules and wound up playing in Atlanta is bullshite though.

No doubt, the East has stepped it up this year. And A&M picked up where Arkansas fell off. And Ole Miss is much improved as well. Much better conference.

UGA won't have the luxury next year. But go check out Alabama's schedule. Tennessee and Kentucky? LSU gets Florida and Georgia. Come on.

I have no problem admitting that Alabama got a huge advantage avoiding Florida. At the time the permanent opponents were established, Florida and Tennessee were the two clearly best teams in the East, with UGA right behind. Right now, that's obviously not the case, and we benefitted from it.

I just have a problem with LSU fans acting like they have been personally wronged, and the SEC offices are conspiring against them. Some of these comments are so stupid, you wonder how these people feed themselves. LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, AND South Carolina all had a harder road than Bama and UGA, and that is not a fair situation. But it wasn't fair in 2010 when almost our entire slate of SEC opponents had a bye week before playing us. It's no coincidence that the results were different that year. It's not equal, I agree.

But wasn't something done to remedy this situation? And yes, a bunch of Bama fans were here complaining about it. Why couldn't the SEC just create a more balanced schedule--especially if it was a one year deal next year?
