I grew up in St. Louis and now live in Chicago and I never hear anyone say Pop. Soda is the preferred nomenclature.

In Yuma, we do Tri-Tip and it is awesome. But you are correct, the overall BBQ scene in AZ is truly sad!

One thing is for sure. You can't get a decent bowl of grits anywhere in Texas!

I agree with the rc and the moonpies (especially if you pop them in the microwave for a second) but I do draw the line at snotty peanuts. I am just not that Southern i guess. I love peanuts but hell no to those things.

“She’s a mess”. I have always heard this in reference to ornery kids or someone who is really funny. It’s not a derogatory term it’s usually followed by a chuckle when telling stories about someone.

agree, but good BBQ doesn't really need much of any kind of sauce. I'll baste my ribs if we gave company because most people like them sauced, but that's about it. I'll put enough on my pulled pork to remind me that it's there, but that's it. Good brisket doesn't need sauce.

Yes sir!

BBQ is pig meat, and we all know it to be true.

Such an east of the Mississippi thing to say. I love pork. It’s my 2nd favorite BBQ meat behind Brisket. Chicken isn’t BBQ to me. It’s grilled/smoked chicken. No need to make this a 1 way is the only way thing. Having a preference is one thing but saying brisket isn’t BBQ is just closed minded shite.

When I was a kid I remember thinking these were awesome when we traveled from Texas to visit family across the South.

This was before Yoo-Hoo was widely known and available across the country so these were a treat when we could get them. They weren't typically sold in Texas. I don't think they are made anymore.

"Hey you want a coke?"

"Yeah, get me one."

"What kind you want?"

Okay, I'm convinced. You're a fit.

We BBQ at home, there is just no good BBQ restaurants. The ones they call awesome out here in AZ would just be average in Texas, the Midwest, or deep South..

Folks out west call any outdoor gathering where you cook and serve food a “barbecue.”I’d get invited to a “barbecue” at a friend’s house in LA and they’re serving fish tacos and sushi.

The only thing good about California when I lived there working in the oil field was some good looking, easy women. They loved the accent. That’s all I got. Truth. BBQ was terrible.
