They don't address my point of delaying the decision to cancel the game until Saturday morning which a tentative Monday night time slot would have allowed. Nor do they address the fact that it's all been done before. Why is Florida pretending that this is some sort of special situation? Several schools have been affected by hurricanes in the past and have worked out solutions. Florida was simply intransigent.

This... over and over, and over.
I will keep this up when Florida realizes/admits they screwed up by not have a contingency plan created in a timely manner like others did this past weekend and others have done in years past. It was not that hard of a thing to do in the grand scheme of things. Your job is to run and athletic department.

I think its impossible for this game to be played which is unfortunate.

I do not think this game gets played.

It's weak sauce to claim Florida was inflexible with a C5 hurricane bearing down.

Dude, your shite is weak. Everyone else had their contingencies in place by Wednesday, 72 hours before 'landfall', not 48.
quote:

The fact that LSU demanded to play within 48 hours of landfall

Again, you look like you just flew in from China and are completely unaware of the facts and timeline of last week. LSU made NO demands, only offered up options - SEVERAL options.
quote:

Hard to work out a solution when the other party is all "my way or the highway"

That's exactly my point, LSU was making suggestion in advance of the storm, when everything was still on the table, and all Florida could say was, MY way or the highway."

Why do you think it's okay for Florida to say, "My way or the highway,"?

But more importantly, why do you give a shite one way or the other whether or not a game is played between LSU and Florida?

Seems like it's none of your business.

Yeah, when you said this:

Sack up and play the goddamn game.

Everyone really understood, this is a voice of reason. And then when you said LSU should be forced to forfeit if they don't agree to play the game on 11/29. Yes, the voice of reason.

We should all bow down and the voice of reason. 14&Counting. Being so reasonable. Thank you so much for being reasonable.

It's my business and every other West team's business if LSU wants to say their win percentage in the West standing shouldn't take a hit because they won't play a conference opponent..... simply because it didn't suite their timeframe.

The bottom line is the game needs to be played.

Somebody should have told your AD that last week.

Too late now - unless UF wants to play it on 10/29, or 11/19 in BR.

LSU never planned to stay in Gainesville so the point of the team taking up hotel rooms is utterly false, not fact

What about the thousands of out of town fans? They freed up a lot of hotel rooms when the game was postponed.

Now you're reaching for a specious point. Let's just say that the game was rescheduled until Monday. Saturday morning is the last reasonable time to finalize preparations.

I believe it is an assumption the offer was not made, I was merely suggesting that is also possible the offer was made and was not considered acceptable. Although no argument it may not have been discussed at all given the way the projections changed from Wednesday to Thursday. We just don't know what was discussed or what other possibilities were considered outside of what Alleva reportedly offered.

quote:

I never suggested it. I've not once said "Noon on Saturday". He was INSISTANT on Saturday. Why?

I said at a minimum moving the game to later on Saturday was being considered. Moving the game to Sunday was being talked about as well. A change in game time was pretty much assumed Thursday morning.

Foley is not like Alleva. He is not going to come out and give every detail of what was or wasn't discussed. It sort of leaves UF fans in a tough spot in this sort of circumstance

Well then, if every school in the SECW has an interest in this game, what concessions are they willing to make to assure it happens?

BTW, LSU is still offering TWO solutions (11/19 in BR or 10/29 in Gainesville) to UF's ONE (11/19 in Gainesville).

This whole thread is really mute anyway because you're still going to get rolled by Bama.

I thought you guys were all pumped up now that Coach Yaw Yaw had you moving in the right direction. You should be telling USA to frick off and tell Florida you will play them anytime anywhere. That is what a champion would do.

This is a really long thread. It all can be simplified in two words:

Florida sucks.

His last day is 10/31. Could add some more intrigue if we are still talking about this in November.
