Put me in the group that thinks it should rotate between Atl and New Orleans.
Unfortunately the great state of MS doesn't have any nice stadiums.

Cant ACC move their game to another date to have it in Atlnata.?
CCG's are targeting the first saturday in december
+ SEC's game is the 2nd slot (3 - 4 pm range)
+ ACC's game is the 3rd slot (night game)
The only ATL venue is the GA Dome and you can't have 2 huge events in the same venue. You might could do the ACC CCG if the SEC took the early noon game but with the SEC in the middle it locks the ACC out of the f1st or 3rd slot. CBS is not giving up that late afternoon slot as it had the highest ratings (~13 million). Scheduling the ACC game has nothing to do with the NCAA and everything to do with the networks.
Say SEC moved SEC CCG (late afternoon slot) to St Louis. That would open ACC up to play Georgia Dome in 2nd slot instead of 3rd slot as their would be no game to clear out and re set up. Why would the SEC give up a prime time in a prime location to let a rival use that venue or time slot.
Only way to even possibly do both is ACC plays GA dome at say noon and the SEC plays at say 8pm. Imagine the logistics of moving that many people and staff in a single day!
As for basketball the SEC seems to be making a similar long term basketball point and Nashville makes the most sense as the ACC (well UNC, NC State, and Duke) will not move it out of NC so GA is a non issue for CBB.

I thought the GA Dome was coming down after they built the Benz?

Not hard at all to "imaging" and very doable.
SEC used to run double headers for YEARS in Birmingham and Jackson back in 50's and 60's.
The ACC would KILL to finally play a championship game ina sold out venue and I can promise it would sell out in Atlanta even at 12:00. With enough money and prestige ANYTHING is possible including a ACCCG and SECCG at the same venue during the same day.
I know the SECCG is played at 4 pm this year but I know its been played at 6 pm and I believe later.

This is obviously not your main point, but you are incorrect about the ACC basketball tourney. They move it around a good bit, including out of NC. In fact, the next three will be in DC then in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn twice before returning to Charlotte and Greensboro for one year each. It was in Atlanta in 2012.

The point being, they would move the game to the time that would cause issues with the ACC game. It is the ultimate cock block to the ACC. We all agree the ACC would kill to get into ATL, just saying the SEC makes sure not to let them.

Venues are bigger, and more importantly, security between is much more thorough in a post 9/11 world. Takes more some to clean and reset than it used to.
Cleanup, clearing parking lots, clearing old traffic and resetting new traffic. Long time ago to get to 50's and 60's dynamics.

I think between 12 and 8 would be enough time to clear folks. Its a pretty limited area for parking and tailgating down there anyway. It would be tight though.
Could you imagine the all Day/Night party that would be going on down in Centennial Park and the surrounding
area?
It wouldn't be easy but if anybody could pull it off it would be the Atlanta Sports Council and ACVB.

????
If you are talking a noon game and an 8 pm game you are looking at 3:30 - 4:00 end time for the first game
4pm to 8pm leaves you 2 hours to clean and clear the first game and 2 hours to setup the 2nd. Do you really think that would happen in todays age? I watched a Rupp clear and reset (Rupp only seats 24,000) and it took them 8 hours. It was cool to watch tho.

I like the SECCG in Atlanta and obviously SEC leadership agrees with this new contract. I think having it in the same place every years adds to the feeling of history and tradition. And Atlanta makes the most sense. As others have said, it is huge with lots of hotels, restaurants, and attractions. It is fairly well located (admittedly a bit east, but still pretty good), and has the world's busiest airport.
All that being said, I can understand the argument for moving it around. Makes it more neutral, gives people in other areas a chance to drive to the game, etc. But at this point NOLA is the only one that I would think would even be considered. St. Louis, Houston, and Dallas are too far from the center of the conference. Nashville would be a potential location but the stadium is outdoors and a dome (or retractable roof) is preferable for a championship game.
But overall Atlanta just makes too much sense and has been too successful. It would make no sense to risk changing it up just for some hypothetical benefits of "spreading the wealth".

Yes a 12 and 8 game would be the only hours to pull it off...
I know it has been done on a lesser scale with FCS games at the Superdome I believe.
Obviously a different scenerio with two 75k plus conference championship games.

I'm thinking a Friday Nt/Sat afternoon schedule might be the best bet depending on the TV Gods.
I know it has been done before at the Dome...2012 if not mistaken.

It's not the same , but they played 3 games this past week.
Falcons on Thursay Night, GSU panthers on Friday Night, and CFA kick off Sat Aftrtnoon.
Completely reset dome down to field logos 3 times in 48 hours. So as long as you could handle the logistics of fans. Friday night , Sat afternoon can be done

I have yet to see a good argument for moving the game out of Atlanta.
The two teams usually aren't decided until one or two weeks before the game. It's much easier to plan for a one or two day trip to ATL on short notice than in any other city in the southeast.
The game will only be played in a dome or retractable roof stadium. So stop mentioning Nashville.
There's plenty of hotel rooms within walking distance of the stadium if that's what you want to do. I hear they are putting up a new hotel once they tear down the Dome, so there will be even more rooms.
There's enough shops, restaurants, and entertainment in the immediate area so you don't need a vehicle to get around.
There's 5 nearby schools that can make the game a day trip by driving. UA, AU, UT, USC, and UGA. Can any other location boast this?
For any fans that drive to the game, they can use MARTA so they don't have to drive to downtown ATL. There's even a MARTA route that goes from the airport to the dome.
The new stadium will be the nicest stadium in the SEC footprint. There's absolutely no reason to move it.

Why limit it to ATL? Makes no sense. Georgia and ATL get all of the economic benefits of a SECCG, while other states and fans don't.
Competitively, it isn't fair. Teams like Georgia and Alabama schools will likely have a de facto home game.
There are plenty of other cities in the SEC footprint that could host well. New Orleans, Nashville, STL (new stadium), Houston, heck, even florida might be plausible.
Fans closest to the game obviously love it. If the game was in KC every year, Arkansas and Mizzou fans would probably love it.
Atlanta is no longer the center of the conference anymore.
