Les used the significance of games such as these to argue against 9 game schedules because of bowl position so yeah they're nationally relevant. Also they provide clarity in the West standings which if I recall correctly is what LSU folks like to hold over A&M's head. Checkmate

i dont know which direction i should go in. beating auburn by 2, only scoring 12 points against them, finishing outside of the top 10, or losing in the fricking chicken bowl
