Why not open up full capacity? The state is open. Infuriating.

Yeah, that seems silly

Especially with the CDC lifting nearly all restrictions for those vaccinated

There were some people on our board talking about the tournament people having used a compter to spread out seating when the limits were still at 50%. They said they were trying to work with the system to increase capacity, hopefully to 80%, now that the restrictions have been lifted. I guess we'll see.

They will have to check with the lawyers and get back to you.

Is this the last year for the current bid that Hoover "won" for hosting?

Yes, this is the last year of the current contract but I wouldn't expect it to move and would expect the contract to be extended again. There was a decent push in 2016 but that ended up being all for naught

It needs to be moved and rotated on an annual basis.

I agree, but when all they have to show is people go every year and the coaches all seem to like it there, it makes it difficult for people to ever be open to changing something that isn't technically broken even if it makes sense for a lot of other reasons. The basketball tournament used to move around every year, but now even it's under contract to be in Nashville every year through 2030 with the exception of 2022 in Tampa.

No, no it doesn't. 2019 broke attendance records. The SEC has basically designed the area for their liking. It will never move so this is a moot discussion.

Dumb argument to assume that attendance wouldn't actually increase if the tournament was hosted in a nicer stadium and not in a shithole town.
