Tennessee wins 11-6

-Vols have won 10 straight against South Carolina
-Since 2019, Vols are 18-3 against the Gamecocks

Never would've imagined that. What a divergence the two programs have taken

Good interview. Seems like a quality young man, LSU.

But then one of the announcers said afterward he reminded him of Todd Helton, the only hall of famer from the SEC. That doesn’t sound right.

Jones on the mound? What is this, Skip can’t be serious?

LHP Gavyn Jones (0-0, 6.20)

all-time series went from 64-33 to 67-51 in a mere 21 games - it's been a complete face plant with what seems no end in sight -

SERIES VS. TENNESSEE

Carolina holds a 67-51 series advantage on Tennessee heading into Tuesday’s game.
The two teams did not face each other in the regular season.
The Volunteers swept the three-game series in Columbia in 2025.
Tennessee is 3-1 against Carolina in the SEC Tournament.
The Gamecocks defeated Tennessee, 5-1, on its way to the 2004 SEC Tournament title.

But the kid had nothing to do with that.

It wasn’t a dig at the player, it was a dig at the commentator. Who was it?

OU pitcher can’t throw strikes. 4 hour game incoming

Okie, I have a high opinion of Skip Johnson, based on what I’ve seen in years past. So I’ll offer a perspective…

Skip wants to try to win 3+ games in Hoover, as winning only one game doesn’t do much of anything to improve OU’s seeding. So he’s trying an aggressive approach. (This is assuming OU has a strong idea where they stand in terms of potential seeding.)

So I can see the strategy as using an opener to try to eat some innings up front, and avoid using a high leverage bullpen arm later. If it blows up in his face then they leave Hoover early, and are more rested and still in ok shape for postseason play.

It’s not like LSU has any idea what the scouting report would be…

Now that OU is into the LSU bullpen they may shorten the game a couple of innings.

I listened to most of the Mizzou / Ole Miss game today. Pretty nice win for Mizzou especially with the grand slam and hanging on for the win. And nice comeback for Vandy as well.

I love the SEC baseball tournament and hope it remains as part of the schedule for many years, and honestly I wish they would go back to a double-elimination format. Probably won't happen.

LSU fans can chime in on the strength of their bullpen, but in the past I recall Guidry has been one of their high leverage guys.

That makes as much sense as anything I can come up. Seems risky because a opening loss to lower seed hurts him a lot more than a win helps.
