So you do not want a share of the SEC regular season title? If Florida sweeps, LSU will have no shot at taking any part of the SEC regular season title.

If Kentucky gets swept and LSU sweeps its better for top 8. It's a catch 22 this year but I would rather national seed than sec reg season W.

I understand your reasoning. IMO the best chance at the SEC getting two national seeds is Kentucky taking 2/3 from Florida and then they both end up with top 8 seeds.

I think for LSU there is still a chance, but to be for sure a national seed LSU needs to sweep State and sweep through the SEC Tourney.

Again, just my opinion. I think more than likely the SEC will end up with one national seed. I like Florida taking 2/3 this weekend and I like LSU taking 2/3 against State. Then I think the SEC Tourney is wide open for any team that has an ounce of pitching depth.

That was a horrible showing in Athens by Msu. Friday looked great then downhill from there. The question is, did Msu peak already and now sliding? It looks like Lsu is peaking late in the season.

If nothing else, the job Andy Cannizaro has done with all the injuries this season has been outstanding. Now, let the man recruit. We will be back.

Cannizaro has done a great job holding it together, but you knew that lack of pitching depth was going to catch up to MSU at some point. Who knows, with a good draw, they might still get to Omaha, but they will have their work cut out for them.

If you wouldn't mind me asking who do you think winds up as the other 7 national seeds?

Don't feel so bad about it. UGA is showing improvement very late in the season. They came to Lexington last weekend and took the series. I actually feel better that they took it to MSU, too. I think State will do very well against LSU this weekend.

The SEC is definitely going to get 2 national seeds with 3-4 teams in and around the top 8. MSU's RPI dropped to 25 after the series loss to UGA so I think they're out unless they sweep LSU and the tournament. Winner of UK/ UF gets one and LSU if they beat state. If LSU loses to state and UF/UK is a competitive series I could see UK and UF both getting them.

LSU has a better chance of a top 8 seed if Kentucky gets swept. I'd take that over a regular season SEC title

sweep through the SEC Tourney.

granted the selection committee will change their method year-to-year, they have said in the past that conference tournaments don't have much bearing on national seeding.

I think it made the difference for A&M last year.

So the ACC will get 3 national seeds and the SEC 1 this year correct?

Man, I did not think the ACC would jump the SEC in baseball so fast.

Right now the only locks for a national seed IMO are Oregon St, SEC winner, Big 12 winner, and ACC winner.

The conference leaders are SEC-UF, Big 12-TCU, and ACC-UL. Outside of those, I would give it to UNC & TTU.

That leaves 2 spots with the favorites IMO being UK & ... IDK

The final spot is wide open IMO. Very similar to last year. The final weekend and conference tourney will like decide the last few spots.

The SEC is more likely to have 2 than the ACC having 3.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the ACC has 4 teams in the top 10?

The SEC has 2? And one may not be there after the weekend.

I saw a poll that had Wake at 10, UNC, Louisville, and Clemson also in top 10. Aren't UVa and State also 38-12/13?
