I see what you did there

U wanted to be higher than State, only because you played a real opponent and State played a high school team

Why does basketball literally only matter to UK and no other sec school

Some could be the Braves, but I think you also have to consider weather a bit and tradition. Lexington, Knoxville, Columbia MO and Nashville all have far worse college baseball weather (at least February-April) than nearly everywhere in the west.

Also the west teams just have better overall traditionally strong teams which also created a bigger fan base.

Yep, baseball weather in Columbia is a disaster until late April usually. Add that with a terrible stadium and a state built around the Cardinals and, to a far lesser extent the Royals, and you have a recipe for terrible attendance. If the Tigers are headed for a regional they'll get decent attendance (relative to non-SEC schools) in late April and May but otherwise Taylor Stadium is a windy ghost town most of the year.

False. Arkansas routinely sells out our 19k arena.

Why does baseball matter more to the West schools than the East? Ive never been able to figure it out. I feel like maybe the proximity to the Braves and the Reds means fans in the East generally spend more "baseball energy" on those two MLB teams than their college team?

Missouri has the Cardinals not to mention how cold it is when the season starts and through the first couple months. Georgia has the Braves. Vandy is a small private school. Kentucky stays colder longer and is a basketball school, who plays at the same time for much of the season. South Carolina does support baseball a lot. Tennessee just doesn't invest in the program at all.

Did not know BaseVOLS were at home last weekend. Thought they were at a tourney.

BaseVOLS marketing department has to be the worst among any sport in the country.

Obviously I would not go to a game against Western Illinois in 40 degree overcast weather but was just making an observation about how badly marketed it is. Even if you are locked in enough to listen to local sports radio, drive around down by campus regularly, etc. you would never know the BaseVOLS even existed, much less had a home series last weekend.

Honestly better than I was expecting. Sunday killed our average. 40 degree weather and rain was miserable. We probably only had a couple thousand at most.

Don’t they count tickets sold anyway and not actual entries?

Arkansas went to “tickets scanned” last season.
