SECT is fun and more loaded than Omaha, but not all that meaningful. I feel like the winner should get a bye to the supers as a host.

If you think the SEC tournament is more fun than Omaha - then you haven’t been to Omaha.
It’s college baseball Mecca for a couple weeks.

Points?? Really?? You should never post in a baseball thread again.

This man tries to troll Tennessee more than any Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, or Florida fan. I’m genuinely curious what has him so rustled? 5 in a row In baseball and an L in basketball. Just guessing though

That was one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this site, which is saying a lot.

I’ve been to Omaha five times, the SEC tourney three times. Having four games a day is baseball heaven. And having your team play every day instead of every other day is awesome. And having the tourney over in five days instead of 11 is pretty good too. I love them both.

While I agree the league is loaded with good coaches, I disagree with leaving Barnes out of spite.

Ok, Daniel. Makes sense.

Except that MSU went 0-2 last year in the SECT and lost both games by 10 points or more. And I hope we do it again this season.

Two shortened SECT games then a national seed? Couldn't ask for a better NCAA Regional/CWS setup.

This.

We learned a long time ago that using up your pitching in a meaningless conference tournament really hurt you when the NCAA’s started. Starting the NCAA’s with your #1&2 starters is the best recipe for success.

You know how I feel about Wade but I would not leave him off because he has had an impact on the league.

Try reading again.

The SECT is fun.

And more loaded than Omaha. It can be debated in a given year, but I think that’s mostly true. Postseason can be sort of a crapshoot at times.

It's not really debatable.

Plenty of SEC teams are in the Regionals every year, but only a handful make it to Omaha.

SEC teams in Omaha are there to play the teams that beat the SEC teams not present.

So it's really no debate, and it's not even close to true.

Less Fun.

Less Loaded.

Based on the May 31 rankings (last one before the tourney starts)

SECT
1, 2, 3, 8, 11, 13

Omaha
2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 17

Like I said, its fairly close. A lot of the best teams actually made Omaha last season.

Shows that the SECT is pointless if your team is guaranteed a national seed or can't improve your seeding.

Dang, Chris Lemonis has only been in Starkville since 2019 and already has more CWS wins than Bianco who has been at Ole Miss for 21 years!

Bianco has had some really good teams and this just blows my mind.

I don't believe coaches try to lose the SEC tourney but look how many times teams have lost fast in the sec tourney and then made a run at the CWS. It's safe to say you save your arms.
