yea, your park is small seating wise. but I think the berms are cool and look like fun. it does't look like there is any outfield sitting room as y'all crammed that field in there tight. basically you have a aestetically (sp) appealing ball park. if the concessions are good and you can drink beer I say frick the money. it's college.

Fair points.

You can recreate the cool berms of hot chicks hanging out getting sun watching the game int he OF. You can move the beer section out there and make it larger. Turn that section into a party.

Add in more seats for season ticket holders and or single game seats for people like me who don't want to sit on the grass if I don't have to.

One thing that makes Olsen special in the student / GA seating up the upper decks. They're the reason the atmosphere is so great. They bring the juice.

The quest for more money is going to wipe it all out in the end.

I understand the necessary evil of selling out. Advertisements for Petit Jean meats or Kettle Brand Chips doesn't bother me. I also understand that some of the suites are going to be filled with people who don't have a clue about what is going on in the playing field. They are there to be entertained and for exchange of their sponsorship.

What I don't understand is not letting donors have a say where the money goes.

I also don't understand why some of the suites are empty some games.

I know for a fact that the chancellor suite (suite for the university administration) has been empty plenty of games this season. Why not rent the suite out on a game by game basis?

How much more money would they make if they allowed regular donors to reserve suites for bachelor parties or birthday events?

What you are missing is the mindset of government and quasi government (like state universities) is that they spend it all. I was speaking with an AD prior to the SECN and they admitted they had made a deal with the devil but they wanted to spend the money. This person knew me pretty well and said if I had their job I would get twice as much stuff for half the price. While I appreciated the honesty, they really are in a different world and have no clue because instead of focusing on say their top 3,000 to 5,000 donors they now focus on the top 30 to 50. Having worked from some really wealthy folks I can say firsthand they have no clue how the average American actually lives.

This model, like Social Security, worked when the Baby Boomers were providing the $$$$ and were fueled by warm memories of their youth. Those folks are dying off and the Presidents and AD's have not seeded the goodwill for the next generation and have lost them as long term fans.

The parking crunch needs to be addressed

I noticed this when we attended the Texas game at Arkansas this season. They had blocked off even more of your main parking lot across from Baum.

Did your fans buy those parking spots? There wasn't anyone parking there when we were at the UT game, but that was during the week. Does this parking area fill up on weekends?

and also because development pressure has hurt the parking situation around Baum.

Bingo. Fayetteville is running out of room to expand but the population is continuing to grow like crazy. The AD should have bought up some of the land around Baum when it was still affordable.

About 1/4 of that huge lot is now "reserved" parking for season ticket holders/donors. That's a big part of why this year is the worst parking situation I've ever seen down there. They also built a shed for the marching band, because they are going to start using that lot for marching practice next year.

Also I really don't like how they stripped Sewell Thomas in order to save money on the project. I would have much rather they moved the baseball field to out by the amphitheater on the river. They half assed the project for the sake of saving money. I'm afraid Byrne is about to do the same with Coleman.

idk, I really like Alabama's renovation

UF, where the Gators win despite playing in a dump).

It's hardly a dump. Don't get me wrong. It's plain jane and old but it's not exactly a "dump". They did spend some money sprucing it up not so many years ago.

It's pretty clean and neat actually. It just has no feel or atmosphere whatever that means.

Have you even been?

Thanks. Didn't know if that was University housing or not.

Also didn't know that the construction in the parking lot was for the band. Was wondering what that was.

I didn't scroll through the whole thread, so apologies if its already been pointed out......

But LSU averages more tickets per game (10,804) than Missouri has sold for the entire season (9,505).

The University (not AD) needs to go ahead and buy this lot:

Perfect place for a huge parking garage.

I've just seen it from the outside (was there for football). Dump might seem a little strong, but have you been to the newer parks like the Box, Blue Bell, Baum, and USC? It's a long ways from any of those.
