I called this last year. Watch and see. Texas will get the cupcake like they have had this year and last.
Arkansas is one of our cupcakes this year and going forward permanently

Except Arkansas is 4-3 against UT since Arkansas left the SWC, and spanked UT going out the door.
An interception on a deflection by the Arkansas receiver (Broden couldn't catch a ball if you tossed it from two feet) on Arkansas' first possession last year most likely turned that game completely around. Arkansas driving, UT int and scores for a 20-10 final score.
Texas played a C game and won by 10 while kneeling the ball at the end of the game to run out the clock in field goal range. Texas ran the last 7 minutes off the clock with Arkansas powerless to do shite to stop us. Texas controlled the entire game and Arkansas had no answer for the Texas defense.
Texas will win 70 percent of the time against Arkansas like we have historically. Might even be worse given it is the NIL era. Even though Arkansas cares a lot more about Texas than Texas does about Arkansas.

It was the 2nd play of the 2nd drive from your own 35 yard line..
Driving..
1st Half Arkansas possessions
3 plays 7 yards (punt)
2 plays 9 yards (interception)
3 plays 6 yards (punt)
7 plays 15 yards (punt)
3 plays 4 yards (punt)
1 play -6 yards (end of half)
2nd Half Arkansas possessions
6 plays -5 yards (punt)
Summary: 6 drives, 25 plays for 30 yards
The score was 13-0 with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
Yes, you had back to back good drives after that.. but you hadn't been doing anything up that point.
But Arkansas was driving man! They had 9 yards. Texas' D-line whipped Arkansas, sacking the QB 6 times and shutting down their running game. Game was never in doubt. Texas led 10-0 at halftime and slept walked to a ten point win while running out the clock taking a knee in scoring position.

1 Neutral vs OU
Sorry to break this to you but your "neutral game counts as either a home game or an away game each year.

Early prediction.
Winning 10 Regular Season games will be considered a GREAT Regular Season. Period.
Look for multiple 8-9 win teams. Followed by a host of 7-5/6-6/5-7 teams.
And then you will have 2-3 teams down in the 2-4 win column.
And that is my final answer.

Option 1 - Texas is Away vs OU, Arkansas and A&M
2026
4 Home - Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina
5 Away - OU, Arkansas, A&M, LSU, Tennessee
2027
5 Home - OU, Arkansas, A&M, Kentucky, Ole Miss
4 Away - Georgia, Florida, Vanderbilt, Miss State
2028 (swap 2026 home/road except for perm teams)
2 Home - LSU, Tennessee
7 Away - OU, Arkansas, A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina < -- not happening
Option 2 - Texas is Home vs OU, Texas is away vs Arkansas and A&M
2026
5 Home - OU, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina
4 Away - Arkansas, A&M, LSU, Tennessee
2027

3 Home - OU, LSU, Tennessee
6 Away - Arkansas, A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina < -- not happening
Option 3 - Texas is Home vs A&M, Texas is away vs Arkansas and OU
2026
4 Home - A&M, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina
5 Away - OU, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, Missouri
2027
5 Home - OU, Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss State

2028 (swap 2026 home/road except for perm teams)
4 Home - A&M, LSU, Tennessee, Missouri
5 Away - OU, Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina < --- ding ding ding, we have a winner
Bottom line: If Oklahoma, Arkansas & A&M are our 3 rivals, one of Arkansas or A&M is going to play back to back games in Austin (25 & 26).
So you were saying..
eta: they could come up with a different schedule in 2026 & 2027 where one of them plays back to back road games in 2027 & 2028.. push it down the road, if you will.. but it'll have to change at some point..

I'm for it. I just hope our administration doesn't take the chickens hit approach and use it as a pretense to drop the Louisville game. Sack up CAYTS
Part of the new requirement is an OOC with another P4 opponent, so Louisville won’t be dropped.
