SEC Advanced Numbers That Really Matter - Offense and Defense

What matters in the end? How many points do you average giving up every possession the other team has and how many points do you average scoring every time you have the ball.

Nope - I'm pretty sure its in the big data dump website collegefootballdata somewhere, though.

LSU's defensive numbers are definitely helped by 1 of their 5 games being Vanderbilt.

Well, LSU and Alabama defensive numbers are both helped by playing Mississippi ST.

These stats might well best characterize the quality of each team. And Net Points Per Drive pretty much defines the ranking of each team.
