So if they used the final standings to create match ups that would cause a problem. I think the idea would be if you have 5 home conference games you would play on the road vs the Big 10. And if you had 4 conference home games you would play at home vs the Big 10. (Unless they played them all neutral site week 1 but lets ignore that for right now). Trying to keep the match ups as equal as possible in the final standings of the previous year and adjusting to get the home game number right this is probably what it would look like if the games were to happen this year based on last years standings.

*I gave OU the home game against Texas and UF the home game against UGA because they are listed 2nd on ESPN and I'm not sure who wore home jerseys this year*

Indiana (1) at Alabama (1)
Ohio State (2) at Texas A&M (4)
Oregon (3) at Texas (6)
Michigan (4) at Vanderbilt (7)
Georgia (2) at USC (5)
Ole Miss (3) at Iowa (6)
Oklahoma (5) at Illinois (7)
Missouri (8) at Minnesota (8)
Tennessee (9) at Washington (9)
Mississippi State (14) at Nebraska (10)
South Carolina (15) at Northwestern (11)
Penn State (12) at LSU (10)
UCLA (13) at Florida (11)
Rutgers (14) at Kentucky (12)
Arkansas (16) at Wisconsin (15)
Maryland (16) at Auburn (13)

Why would OU play Illinois? Seems like a slam dunk to renew the Nebraska/OU rivalry….

Based on performance YTD. Toughest to pick were Ole Miss/Iowa and UCLA/UF. I went with the home team in each.

I'm trying to understand why Sankey would sign up for this.

So UF, UGA, UK, USC still all expected to keep their traditional ACC rivals, play a B10 team every year and a 9 game conference schedule?

I think we are going to end up with 1 of 2 things.

Option A:
12 game schedules that are formatted like this
9 SEC games
1 B1G
1 Big 12
1 ACC

Matched up based on standing from the previous year (NFL model)

Option B:
This forces ND into the B1G or SEC and it starts a restructure of 20-24 teams in the B1G and SEC. Turns into NFL Jr with separate playoffs and a "Super Bowl" matching up the conference playoff winners.

I would not look forward to playing Iowa. They’re the kind of team that even if you beat them, you’re leaving beaten up and bruised

As a fan, this would be awesome.

As a realist, I dont think you can leave it to a human committee to choose the playoff spots solely. Would really like to see a computer element come back in.

SEC SOS is already higher, but being 9-3 vs. 10-2 in other conferences doesnt give you any credence for playing a tougher schedule and possibly performing better against it. I just dont like how many tend to view all the 4 conferences the same while schedules are still so imbalanced one to the next.

This doesnt mean I always think a 9-3 SEC team should go over a 10-2 ACC/B12(or even B10) teamn, but I dont think it should automatically go the other way as well. Needs to be a true deep dive into resumes. A 10-2 team from one of the other conferences could have legitimately only played only 2 maybe 3 good teams. No SEC team is getting around playing less than 4 good teams in a season and many play 5 or 6.

It's completely fricking retarded and doesn't take the schools or players into account a single bit.

Seriously, how old are you? Are you unemployed? You clearly have way too much free time, and judging by the horseshite you're coming up with, definitely no wife or girlfriend.

brother it is going to be ok. You having a bad morning? Actually having a college degree and using AI this took all of 5 minutes. I think a pipe is leaking you need to get back to fixing it. Plant not running means money lost.

I’d go traditional every year.

Start with:

Missouri vs Illinois
OU vs Nebraska
Kentucky vs Indiana

Then get great former matchups.

Texas vs USC
Georgia vs OSU
Alabama vs Michigan.
Etc.
