If you can't compete with Alabama on the college level, bring in the pros and hypotheticals.

And if Brett Farve doesn't lose his mind at the end of the Div. Championship game, we wouldn't be talking about how "good" Sean Payton is. Decent and damn lucky is more like it.

The same could have been said for $abun had Justin Vincent not scored a TD on a busted D. That touchdown was the difference. Who can say for sure if $abun would have parlayed that MNC into the Miami and then bama job and the piles of money with it.

Um, going into last year every game had been a 3 point victory for yall since 2005, including the 2007 game when we were prison raped by the replay official. So I would say we can absolutely compete with Bama. And say what you want but last year's game was closer than the score indicated. Our D played their arse off and was on the field the entire game due to....well...you know. Bring on the "moral victory" talk, go ahead. My only point is that we are competitive with Bama, we just can't ever finish the deal.

This is a very good point. Even a huge Saints fan like myself has to agree with this. But you can go back to every champion and pick out moments such as this one.

What if Cody doesn't block that kick?

What if Bobby Bowden had some better kickers in the early 90s?

What if Santonio Holmes drops that ball in the back of the end zone?

You get my point.

I realize this. But I wouldn't say that means we don't compete. There have been some extremely close games in recent years. It's not like yall wax our arse every year.

Julio blocks it, or its wide right.

Saban = great defensive mind, considered a great coach by many.
Payton = great offensive mind, considered a great coach by many.
Both have strengths and weaknesses.

My hypothetical had nothing to do with competing with Alabama at a college level.
Most people on this board are familiar with both, figured it would be an entertaining argument...especially with so many jackass Bama fans, such as yourself. Only a self-absorbed Bama fan would make this about Bama.

Oh, I got a good hypothetical for ya - what if Nick Saban had integrity? Still stuck with Shula?

Again, Peyton because of the offensive nature of flag football.

I want to see how good of a coach Payton would be without Drew Brees. A lot of coaches would look pretty damn good with a QB like that behind center.
i think payton did pretty good with other qb's. quincy carter, testaverde, collins,& bledsoe. it's the perfect match though with brees & payton

I would pay lots of money to see Payton and Saban coach a flag football game

I would like to see Sean Payton knock the dogshit out of tiny lying Saban. Saban is an a-hole with no morals. He will cheat on his wife and lie through his fricking mouth. frick him and the horse he rode out of BR. Alabama sold their soul to the Devil for a NC. I guess you can buy your way into prestige.

I'd chose Nick in appreciation for for his poor evaluation of Brees allowing the Saints to sign him! Look how that worked out!

Payton by a mile, Saban could not cut it in the big leagues.

What if Colt McCoy doesn't get hurt in MNC game? What if JJ and Scott don't get hurt in LSU game?

Thanks Nick for the lousy job you did at Miami and allowing the Saints to obtain Brees!

Payton's record is 38 and 26 with the saints. So obviously he's been "worked" more than his fair share. Are you a saints fan?

Yep. Payton had has his share of frick ups but look at his offensive numbers. The Saints have been in the top 5 in the league every year he's been here and #1 twice. That's pretty impressive in today's NFL.
