Weren't.

He was an 18 year old kid who had just seen his mentor taken out on a predicted dirty tackle and was scrambling to keep the mercs off of his own knees and ankles. We forgive him for being a little uneasy.

But yes, his stats were not impressive. Mainly the fumbles

Who magically turned into a QB that can handle SEC defenses in only a month? Holy shite.

Don't let Miss States talent distract you from the fact that they lost to a 6-6 OM team lead by Luke at home last season.

And it wasn't anywhere near as close as that final score made it seem.

Sounds like one of them personal problems. The entire Big10 knew him when he put em on all notice with his offense. The one thing I do know is that everywhere Moorhead has coached, he’s taken over abysmal offensive situations and made winning programs. I like his chaces to keep the status quo. Also, every great coach was unheard of at one point or the other, never understood that angle. We’ll have to wait and see, same with Morris. Should be an exiciting year in the SEC.

Which one as a head coach?

Why? Because he brings an argument you state fans cant address with a proper response?

Recruiting services down-rate most of our recruits regardless of senior year HS performance.

Aaron Odom is a 4*talent

Marcus Murphy is a high 4* talent

Fabian Lovett is a 4* talent

Aaron Brule is a 4* talent

Eroll Thompson may be a 5* talent. Espn was really high on him and are the only ones that got it right.

Brian Cole is a high 4* talent

Lee Autry was heavily recruited by OU and his brother played at MSU and started for the Raiders the last 2 seasons.

ESPN gives out the most 4 star ratings and your list is highly inaccurate. But it's no surprise.

We see it every cycle. Even if a 4* or 5* recruit favors us they get stingy with the rating. It's not something that happens every now and then, it happens several times in each cycle. It was comical for a while, now just

I never even saw a picture of the guy until last week. I actually forgot his name for a few weeks and was too stubborn to Google it so I just waited until I saw a thread pop up here with his name in the title.

I've honestly never seen an SEC head football coach hire as quiet as this one from a school other than Vandy. Its kind of weird actually, and even more so now that State fans have all seemingly jumped on his bandwagon out of nowhere the last week or two.

You will get sick of hearing his name in the future, so just enjoy the serenity

Moorhead will top Mullen’s highest ranked recruiting class in year 1. Let that sink in.

But it is also a banner year in Mississippi. And tremendous cycles in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Yeah, I haven't heard of him either so I did some looking. Really nothing stands out about this guy besides his time at PSU with increasing offensive production by about 100yds/game than previously.

No wins really jump out at me and was surprised the weaker teams were usually more competitive against PSU.

PSU came off of probation which allowed better players. Franklin is a pretty good use of talent and is a pretty good Head Coach, especially with turning programs around.

Maybe he (Moorhead) will do good at MSU, but the hype he is getting is unwarranted IMO.

Remind me again how the fact that you are ignorant plays into our coach's abilities?

Fellow dog fans, there's no use trying. These rubes say "MSU can't possibly beat us" every year. Yet over the last 4 years, we are 34-18. Outside of Alabama, who we will never beat again apparently, the only SECW team with a winning record against us is Ole Miss. They are 3-1, and they had to cheat to do that. We are 3-1 vs A&M and Ark, and 2-2 vs LSU and Auburn. Yet, in their minds, we are inferior every year.

We may go back to being a doormat in the West soon. But it won't be in 2018. We are loaded, no matter what they think. They'll find out soon enough.

This is very underrated. Franklin is a hell of a head coach.

You did just lose your best coach in history (which to many people he was severly overrated)

Add the fact that you didnt have a great season last year (4th in the West)

2 of those schools who you are 3-1 with just fired/hired new coaches as well.

And this is your coaches first time at a big boy school as a head coach. Mind you, no one in the world even knows who he even is.
