Two more years before they join still, but…

Do you think there’s a chance they come a year sooner?

How likely is it that we’ll get 9 SEC games?

Is the three permanent opponents concept a done deal ?

What’s your best guess as who your team’s permanents?

UF would get UGA, UT, but not sure about the third. LSU or AU?

They all guaranteed us they would bully the big 13 and force them to let them out last year

I hope not

Until the B12 / B1G / PAC can match the cross rivals of the ACC / SEC - the 9 conference games is a fools error of inequality. Just because the Midwest and West Coast think it works does not mean it works in the South.

Go to 9 SEC games? 75% YES

UTexass/OU before 2025? 50-50.

If we go to 9 games, I am not sure who LSU will get. We SHOULD get State, OMIss, and Bama as those are the three SEC teams we have played the most. But there is no way we get Bama aS bAMA WILL GET utENN AND au AND THE cOMMISH WILL NOT GIVE THEM lsu TOO.

My best GUESS is that LSU will get OMiss, Arkie, and the Ags.

SEC already said they would use the three permanent team model.

I know Sankey said they won't use "pods" but Im really failing to see the difference between 3 perm and 4 pods. Am I missing something? Assuming they go to 9 game SEC schedule.

In a pod system, each of the 4 teams plays each other every season.

In a 3-perm system, each of the 16 teams just has 3 assigned perms to play. Example:

Bama----Auburn, Tenn, and Vandy. But Aub does NOT play Tenn or even Vandy. Auburn has Ala, UGA, and State as their three perms.

I had read that OU/TX has togive 18 months notice due to scheduling. Not sure where I read it but tvat means to go in 2024 they will need to decide within the next month or so. Not sure if its TV or B12 or SEC that requires it but think its B12. If true we’ll know pretty soon.

At this point, I doubt it. But I've been caught completely off-guard before on this stuff. So I say 25% chance next year, 75% we finish on the current terms of the agreement and come as publicly declared and scheduled.

Personally I'd rather not do it immediately. But the opinion of a fan doesn't matter. There's almost certainly more money involved in a 9 game conference schedule. So that's what the powers-that-be will probably do. 80% chance within the first three years.

If it is, we won't get the priviledge finding out until about 6 - 8 months beforehand I'd guess. I'm guessing yes, effectively already done and decided.

UT, Arkansas, LSU/Missouri/Vanderbuilt (???). Not at all sure who the third will be. Not even 100% sure about Arkansas.

9 games is pretty much a given with 16 teams. (However, the extra H/A will be interesting to see play out).

I honestly don't know what the format will be because they all have flaws:

divisions: how long to rotate through other side? (Positive features - instantly breaks ties & easily determines SECCG teams)

pods: forming them that makes sense & keeping all rivalries/must-be-played annual games (Positive features - NO GAMES will be lost if they use 6 years cycle & pair up 2 pods yearly to get SECCG members (creating more interesting matchups instead of the usual teams each year)

non-divisions: all the tie-breakers needed to be created to sort same-record teams with varying # of common opponents & determing WHO is the must-be-played opponents (Positive features - I can't think of any)

I thought since the GOR is ending & that ends the current rotation format, 2025 was the end date if nothing changes to make it sooner.

9 game schedule and only one permanent opponent. I am very confident. Your permanent opponent will be your thanksgiving day rival. Couple exceptions are OU/TX GA/FL maybe another

It WON'T be Thanksgiving due to many of us having other rivalries that weekend (UGA/GT & "Clean Old Fashion Hate").
