Where I live, haven't locked the door in years. And I'm not telling you where I live.

I might care a smidge if it didn't feel like WBB was constantly being rammed down my throat

Our competition is defense contractors, and I can tell you that in my field it is like comparing NFL vs. CFB in terms of how close they are in competency.

They were promoted within the organization. Don't know precisely how long they've been here, but 10+ years, and both currently on "probationary" status. But their jobs seem safe at the moment.

If a job has a probationary period, a federal worker can count previous federal work experience toward that probationary period.

This is not accurate. I know two who are in this exact situation.
Our organization is within the DoD and this doesn't appear to have affected us, but there is a lot of uncertainty. In general, I have felt that this restructuring has been desperately needed. There are a lot of inefficiencies and wasteful processes in government -- the result of decades of reactionary policies stacked over one another -- many of these in an effort to reduce costs or prevent fraud, but they ultimately end up costing more in the form of wasted time.

I see a lot of bloodlust here for Feds, which I get. If the axe falls our way, I am prepared to accept my fate. I just hope we will get an opportunity to show that the return on investment from our group to taxpayers has paid for our salaries many 10s, if not 100x over.

As has been pointed out, workers on "probation" include high performers that have recently been promoted. I know a couple of them personally -- very intelligent and hard working.

Just know that we are not all leaches. Most of my colleagues could be making more in the private sector, but remain in civil service because they love their country and believe in the mission.

My 2c.
I have a neighbor with three dogs that bark rabidly at me and my toddler every time we're out for a walk. Pretty sure they would maul her if given the chance. Keep a knife on me just in case. Also always have shite in my front yard from people walking thier dogs.

I have a cat that is quiet and shits in her litter box. I voted Trump. frick dogs.
I'm a federal employee and welcome this with open arms. The productive ones should.

But muh Seltzer poll!
John King on CNN was born for election night coverage. Dude is lights out.
It was worn in the Gator Bowl against Penn State in 1962. They were heavy underdogs and felt disrespected so they came up with this helmet as an FU to the north, whose teams had a general sense of superiority. Gators won that game 17-7.

We become an instrument of the Biden campaign? We turn ourselves into Xinhua News Agency or Pravda, and put out a stream of stuff that’s very, very favorable to them and only write negative stories about the other side?
