Say what you will about Pete Golding, but it took massive balls to go for 2 on the last TD

I don’t study analytics, but I assume he has a chart?

fricking A. That was a dude playing chess. I have never respected him more. (I don’t think he’s a particularly good coach.) I even thought it was a stupid idea in the moment then when someone pointed out he wanted to stop LSU from winning on a two point conversion on the other end I realized what a great move it was.

Actually I think it was pretty dupid TBH. LSU got really close to scoring.

I thought it was stupid in the moment as well, but having the guts to call it in that environment was pretty impressive.

Not the move I would have done. If he didnt make it they are up 6 only and a TD an extra point wins it. I doubt analytics had anything to do with that call. Very gutsy though

After it was abundantly clear that our DC was a moron and practically was giving the game away, it was the correct call to make.

Kept lsu from winning the game. Nobody knows if he would have run it the first time. Or the second time. But the third time being a foot away, you go for it.

Even if we didn’t get it. We are at worst down three and only need thirty yards for our kicker to either win or tie.

It worked and Lane would have 100% gone for 2 had LSU scored and we only kicked a PAT. That being said, I wasn’t crazy about the call

No offsides jump on first attempt and they don’t attempt it, IMO

The one at the end of the half showed me something that you see at the 2 point try.

He’s playing to win and he trusts his QB

Golding is living off the fruits of Lane. That ends after this season. Lane built OM. He will do the same at LSU.

He wouldn't have gone for 2 had LSU not jumped offsides. That was the genuis part. OM was not snapping the ball the first time.
