His salary is $5.25. With your facilities, you should've been able to get him for $5.75 with annual bonuses and raises for performance. Why throw the entire bank account at him up front? If it doesn't work out, you'll be stuck with an expensive arse mistake for 5 loooong years. That's just dumb.
Because top 5 head coaches don't just leave blue blood programs for fun.

No you didn’t.
You stated why you don’t believe it’s an ideal hire.
That doesn’t explain why you’re in orbit over it.

Regular season is already over...sounds legit.

Not for FSU.
They play ULM Dec 2.

Amazing. LSU has bad timing with Jimbo twice, then aTm gets him easily after his QB goes down and a bad season.

Y’all are paying a 33 year old $3.1M.
Correct. And we're going to the playoffs. That's how it's done.

But you could have hired him for $2.5M. So wasteful.

He's unhappy there and has no facilities. You could've gotten him for much less.

If that were true he would be LSU's coach right now.

You have a 50/50 shot at that
And if you make it there you’ll just get embarrassed again

Not everyone is poor.
there are plenty of schools that have the money to pay Jimbo 7.5 million/year. But there are also a lot of people that don't think he's worth that salary. But y'all did just, 4 years ago, sign Kevin Sumlin to a fully guaranteed $30 million contract. But I guess A&M also extended Sherman's contract in 2010 only to fire him a year later. I think it's safe to say the A&M AD hasn't always made the smartest investments when it comes to coaching hires.

Our contract negotiations department is a dream come true...if you are an employee.

because Jimmy Sexton has a way of making AD's make fiscally ignorant decisions.

You were when you gave Sumlin a stupid contract after one good season too and that turned out well.
Speaking of Sumlin, I hear he's currently playing chicken with ATM over his $10M buyout and won't take anything less. See? A smart negotiator!

A&M should have fired him with cause when they had a chance during his many known drunken episodes. USC had no problem doing it to Sark, granted his issues were more admittedly more egregious
