Could it be that he thought he could get a better job next year?

Thank goodness Jimbo, Kirby, Pruitt, and Lane never worked under Saban.

Let me know when any of them other than Jimbo accomplishes anything of note. Kirby has underachieved, Pruitt has been a disappointment, and Lane's never had a big job that he hasn't driven into a ditch. Jimbo isn't exactly killing it right now, either, but I guess he deserves credit for winning at FSU, before ultimately turning that program into a dumpster fire.

What modern coaching tree even comes close to Saban’s?

Sheesh...

I member when A1abana fans beat their chest over championships. Then tDecline hit.

Now they beat their chest about coaches leaving.

Not a good look.

Willy, good assistants don’t stay forever. Don’t you know this? Don’t you want that for LSU too?

It says to me that other schools don't want to touch Saban assistants with a ten foot pole. It also tells me that Saban is not very good at foisting coaches onto other programs.
You're probably right man, the constant coaching turn over Alabama has experienced for the last decade speaks volumes as to how shitty Saban is to work for. I guess us old Gump fans will survive somehow.

Saban's once proud coaching tree is looking more like a pruned bush.

Kirby has underachieved

I don't understand how this narrative keeps being said with any kind of seriousness. Has he underachieved just because he hasn't won a national title? By that standard all but 6 coaches in the land have underachieved. The guy has been to 3 SEC title games, one national title game, that if against anyone but Bama he wins and should've won that one, and 2 NY6 bowls. If that's underachieving then where do I sign up. Only 4 programs in that span has had that much success. Bama, Clemson, OSU and Oklahoma. Save the title this year and he's outdone LSU, even though we've beaten him two straight years.

Im no Kirby fan and am on record that he has replaced Urban as sleaziest HC but he has far from underachieved. But don't let facts get in the way.

Does Kiffin really count as Sabans tree or Pete Carroll's? Does Fisher count for Saban, Bowden and or Miles? Coaching trees are vastly overrated.

In other words, Sark got turned down by the worst school in the worst P5 conference.

Did he interview for both jobs? Yes.

Did he get either job? No.

Please name a better one in college football right now. There’s not one. Maybe that speaks to the lack of great coaches, considering there’s only 6 active coaches with a national title. But with 9 active head coaches in FBS on Saban’s tree, it has to be the best going.

It might be a means to an end....but GTFO here with this "they like working for him!" nonsense.

Would Saban have hired Freeze as OC if Sark left?

The theory is just as plausible as OP stating Sark pulled his name from consideration at Colorado because he loves working for Saban. I mean, this is the rant, right?
