The refs have been disappointing in general at the end of these close games. Lots of questionable calls and then this nonsense. I remember the announcers just brushing it off in the moment because they were so hype for the game tying shot. But this was pretty fricked up by the refs.

For once, they got it right.

Looks like he hesitated and then ran towards the wrong ref. He should have gone to the one on the baseline instead of the ref sprinting to get back to other end of court.

You can't call a timeout in that scenario once the Kentucky player has grabbed it. They should have fouled before Kentucky was able to get a shot up. End of story.
It isn't that easy with this new continuation stuff. All Oweh would have done in that case would be to throw the ball halfway to the goal after they fouled him and claim it was a shot....

Hence what I said earlier. And I don't give two shits about all the downvotes.
Its pretty much impossible to hit the shot then call time-out before the ball is inbounded against you. If the defensive team is even slightly schooled in how to play it.
Herb Sendek is full of shite.

So much wrong with the OP. Kentucky had already thrown the ball in. And why did the SC team just run with Owen instead of fouling him for two right away
SC lost because they are stupid
SC lost because they are stupid

You’re right, but that’s not what you originally said. A team can call a timeout after they make a shot, they just have to do before the 5 seconds start.

When I don't know the inner workings of a topic, I typically just keep my mouth shut. Been weird like that my entire life. Maybe you could give that approach a try.
TheScogg,
I posted a sports article on a sport's forum. You would be hard pressed to find any single post in this forum, that all posters agreed on.
The fact that you, or any of your fellow Kentucky fans would or would not like the article, was not a consideration before posting. You Kentucky fans have two options:

Which is before the other team grabs the ball. There is a reason it doesn't happen often in practice.
I wasn't clear. You are correct. Who isn't correct ? Herb Sendek with his antics of running up the floor while the ball is being advanced begging for a TO.
Honestly ? This entire sequence has been a good review of why you don't see teams get a T/O after a made basket.

So you are proudly wrong about the rules ? Got it.
You're just wrong, man. Stop being a Boomer, and just learn from it.

That would have been the smart play. It was two seconds of chaos. I bet Sendek plays that differently the next time.
But lets be real. Oweh hits that shot what ? 1 out of 10 seems generous.
Sometimes shite just happens.

You remind me, frankly, of a Millennial. And I have worked with a few. This idea of "You mad bro ?". The passive-aggressive "did I get under your skin" thing.
With absolutely no concern, care, or acknowledgement of the idea that statements made should be correct. That facts matter. That all opinions are not, get this, equal in the slightest. That arguments made should be defended and can, indeed, be attacked and shown to be pure idiocy. As well as the idiot making the claim.
You are one such idiot.

Exactly.
Claiming such a low percentage shot should have been something they "obviously" should have specifically defended against is absurd. Why would anyone think of fouling someone and giving them free throws to tie instead of a - as you said, at best 10% shot - long shot to TIE.
Even making it, SC still had a shot in OT to win it.

Supposedly ... according to folks around Mark Pope ... they schedule time to practice those kinds of things.
But really ? If Oweh gave me 10-1 odds ? I'd bet $10 a shot. $20 once I got up $50.
It was just one of those March Madness things.

If they could get to where you could hit 30-40% of those shots, you'd see them all the time. The player is rarely defended at that range.
So practicing it is great, but I doubt it boosts it higher than 10%, especially with the time constraint.

You remind me of a stupid son of a bitch. I have met many in my lifetime. You are definitely one
Once again, I did not make any statements about rules.
Quote that statement, if your ignorant, crying little bitch arse can find one.
You want a factual statement? Okay! "Kentucky sucks at every sport, and is only in the SEC to fill in schedules."

You know what ? I'm in the wrong. Not because of anything I've factually said.
But if this thread is what keeps you from kicking your dog and slapping your old lady and maybe your kids ? Or the neighbors kid ?. Or the neighbor who sired your kids ? Or the neighbors old lady who you'd like to sire kids with, or who maybe left with mutual kids for greener pastures one lot down ?
Hey Jekyll. You win the Internet today. Well debated, sir. Good day.
