Where does the tweet say that Sankey rejected the request?

If he wants that game at 230pm, why has it been played before breakfast for two decades?

Can we send UTa and OU back to the Big 12? All they've brought is more scheduling headaches and apparently now we aren't going to be getting extra $$$ for taking on two crappy teams. I didn't realize we had become the charity case league.

I really don't know but I'm happy to pull something out of my arse.

Del Conte has taken a largely fan-first approach and an 11am kickoff sucks for the fans. It wasn't something he could control in the Big 12 because it was 100% the decision of the networks, who traditionally used the game to anchor viewers on their channel early in the day, rather than compete against the SEC at 2:30.

I honestly don't know if it's something the SEC can dictate to ESPN anyway, which is why the request always struck me as odd. But I'm happy as a fan that he at least tried.

I guarantee he isn't going to be quiet about possibly being the only team to draw three big 6 permanent rivals on the strawman 3-perm rivals schedule that was floated by whomever.

Pfffft. Auburn has been consistently mediocre since 2013. Tennessee has been flat out shitty since 2008.

Pfffft

Doesn't change anything. They're still Big 6.

With UTx and OU, we could call it Big 8. And, the floated pairings would still have Bama as only one with 3.

I can't see it happening willingly.

That's cool. It is a damn big game and should never be played at 11am.

It’s going to be 8-1 because ESPN won’t renegotiate the rights deal that the SEC signed in 2020. So the SEC will try to withhold game inventory for at least a bit.

Bookmarked. Wait and see what happens. LSU is going to get one Big Six team and Bama will get three

Saban is one of the few SEC coaches to publicly advocate for a nine game conference schedule dingus

Then Sabans gonna throw a fit. He's wanted 9 for a decade.

He definitely publicly called for nine conference games for a decade when he was positive no one else wanted it and it had no chance of passing. Now when it’s a realistic possibility???

Coach Saban has pushed for 9 SEC games since winning his 2nd or maybe 3rd national championship at Alabama.

It went to a vote multiple times and the tally always came back 1-13. But you know this already I’m sure.

One of the realities is not everybody’s going to play the same strength of schedule every year.

Translation from Sankey-ese - Bama’s schedule will continue to be loaded with conference cupcakes

The analysts got it down to 2 options 1-7 and 3-6. It looked like 3-6 would carry the day but at least 1 school (Alabama) changed their vote so now it may be a 7-7 vote if they took it today.
Who’s collecting and tallying all these votes? Sankey? SEC officials?
