this could likely affect the minor league baseball teams and the NBA g-league team in southaven. It is incredibly stupid. These people need to attend a professional sporting event to see proper security checkpoints

The last thing I want in that situation is an armed Alabama (or any other SEC) fanbase to take it upon themselves to neutralize the threat
then you must be unaware of the numerous stories where armed citizens have prevented attacks or at least minimized the damage

I think he would be fired if he made this happen. I agree guns should not be in a stadium but you can’t punish a state because of it. Stadiums will just make a rule no metal objects.

Let me just put it this way, in the SEC "It just means more", and arming fans in the stands would definitely demonstrate that........

The drunken fights in the stands would get a lot more interesting

you want to stop this at security checkpoints on the front end. Allowing anyone to carry a gun in a packed stadium is stupid. it is absurdly shortsighted to think someone with intent can't get a CC permit. That same person brings a gun into the stadium and unloads his clip. say someone behind him or around him shoots to kill at that point only a had full of people know who the bad guy is and you are also assuming that the bad guy does this when everyone is sitting down and it isn't loud. A surpressor on it makes it hard to distinguish who the shooter is. This isn't rocket science. I'm dumb as a box of rocks, and someone crazy enough with intent could definitely plan this better than I. He gets checked on the front end they find gun and proper authorities carrying are right there to shoot him and collateral damage would be less. I'm fine having a gun at your tailgate or in your car... lock it up before you go into the stadium and have proper security in place outside the stadium during the game.

This might be a good opportunity to kick Miss schools out and bring in Oklahoma and Oklahoma St footprint to the SEC.

No more cowbells!

This might be the only way that LSU will beat us.

If anyone knows anything about Mississippi and it's lawmakers, this will further motivate them to pass it. Anytime outside powers try to influence how the state does things, they make it a point to shite on whoever threatens them.

Admirable really

This was my first thought, but I couldn't see a way to explain it. Well done.

It's only for enhanced CC holders. Not as easy.

You obviously know so much about guns.

Guessing you have no idea what it takes to get one of these and definitely have no idea as to how many of them have been used in a crime.

To clarify, since OP insists on leaving his dense and misleading title:

Sankey is not making proclamation or policy. He is simply informing his member institutions of the possible ramifications of this legislation. None of which can be denied, as the SEC already has experienced this with Arkansas and similar legislation.

How could anyone disagree with the Commish doing his job on this issue?
