Just wait until ESPN takes over SEC. Only going to get worse.

Seriously no reason for a non-P5 school to even play football. If A&M didn't get in, I thought Cincinnati deserved a seat.

Use the BCS system to select the 4 playoff teams and there's no problem at all.

Bama versus Clemson would have been enough this year.

In fact, I’d go back to Sugar Bowl for SEC and free for all voting.

If you do 4, fifth team is upset. 8 would make 9 mad. 16 would make 17 mad.

Do away with the playoffs and leave the out of conference games as open dates. Have a committee pick the out of conference games in the season. They will be like playoff games in the season. Best of both worlds. The playoff has been a dud so far. There’s only been 3 good games out of the 12 first round games played.

That BYU/Coastal Carolina game is a good example.

Agree. Cincy would have been a legitimate pick over A&M. Undefeated team that played a full slate of games. Cincy's schedule was easy, but honestly no easier than Ohio State's.

There's just no legitimate argument based on actual on-field results for Ohio State to be in over A&M or Cincy.

Move to 16 teams and in the end it will still be the last 4 standing.. face it. Those 4 are there for a reason.. we are just better. Recruit better..and beat us. Its really that simple

The playoff has always been a bad idea. At least the way it’s done at this level of college football. The only way to have a true playoff that makes sense is to do it like they do at the lower levels of college football. And that type of playoff waters down the regular season to much. Say what you want about the BCS but that system got things right 99% of the time. A couple of times it got it wrong but all in all it got things right more than it messed things up. Every regular season game counted with the BCS also.

So why don't schools like Auburn get their shite together and do something about it?

If you 9, you prolly got at least 2 losses. Don't lose 2 and think you should be in.

If it was up to me it be 8 team playoff. Automatic bid for Power 5 Conference Champions unless you have lost more then 2 games already. That way we don't get a 9-3 Pac 12 Champ in automatically. It make teams play harder to win. 1 Undefeated Group 5 Conference Champion that is highest ranked. 2 at large bids. The playoffs now are too influenced by the committee. Too much bias. FBS Division 1 football is the only sport that can't get the playoffs right for a path to the National Championship. FCS, Divisions 2 & 3 both get it right. FCS has powerhouse North Dakota State get in Championship game every year for the past 9 years and win 8 of those 9. And there playoff system is fair and better then what FBS has. So if in a playoff system an Alabama still wins Championships most years then at least it can't be said by others that the committee made it easy for them. An Undefeated Group 5 Conference Champion will Never get in the playoffs the way it is now. I say let them. If they lose big. Then they lose big, but if they shock the world and win. Then it makes college football better. Reality is it is all about the money! Rather people think Ohio State deserves to play this year because of lack of games. Reality is Ohio State is a money maker brand and high ratings for TV across the country, not just in the Midwest! Besides they don't look well rested because of fewer games. They look less polished because of fewer games. Playing less games hasn't helped them. And they are Big 10 Champions who hasn't lost a game. Some team is going to be unhappy about being left out regardless of how the committee does it and there is the problem. The Human Committee does it how they want and they change the rules when they want since the beginning of the playoffs.

I’d those teams are constantly the best then why bitch about it? You want affirmative action for the playoffs?

Wrong. 9 and 17 would be mad. Who cares about 9 and 17.
