Keep the bowl games but move them to the beginning of the season. Limit them to 32 teams. Try to get preseason playoff type matchups. They could be crystal ball games to get a better look at the season. Play them in week 0. Maybe at the end of the season have 32 more teams play 16 more bowl games. Base the bowl teams on last year and this year.
not a hall of fame coach. hate that he died. being funny and goofy doesnt make you hall of fame,

They’ll hire anybody if they’ll hire freeze and pearl. Glad my kids have no interest in Auburn because I’d sway them not to go there. What kind of teachers do they hire if they hire these guys. Plus a few years ago he softball coach was banging players. Huge mess at Auburn.
Pearl shoulda been banned from the ncaa when he blackmailed that kid in the 90s. it’s not the barbeque.
Pearl blackmailed a kid once because he didn’t sign with him and messed with the kid’s eligibility. Pretty sleazy.

If Tank Bigsby’s name was Bill Jones, he’d never see the field. he’s got no vision and he can’t break tackles. He’a a nice run to daylight player when there’s big holes to run through but if the play requires contact, he’s done. Tank is one of the most overrated players of the past coupla years. Hunter has way better vision and can break tackles. Tank wouldn’t see much action at Georgia, Bama, Tennessee, or lsu. He’s just not that good.

Mike Elko from Duke would be a good hire. shocked he went to duke. his defense carried 8&4.
The state of Texas, and it’s false belief that being from Texas makes you special is all of the Texas school’s problem. They’re the most entitled state in the US. It’s a state culture.
LSU so low they’re begging for participation trophies. Treating these kids like they invaded Normandy when all they did was show up and to get killed. Appreciate their effort, butcome on now.

and speaking of nils, opt outs, transfers. This is just capitalism at it’s finest. You love capitalism until it touches and ruins something you love. The old system you want back, where players only get an education in exchange for football serviices rendered is about as communist as it gets.

The irony. The hypocrisy. It’d be hysterical if it wasn’t so sad. Oh well. I’ll laugh anyway. That’s why I come here. To laugh at all the fools.
Why isn’t he coaching on the field?
i live 15 minutes from citronelle. he better be glad he got out.
Yeah. Prothro way overrated. Chris Capps and that Britt boy having to play center in the lsu game was what killed 2005 for the Tide. keith brown and dj hall were better than prothro. he just added more wrinkles.
John L Smith was an emergency hire. So was Price, but not as much as Smith. Auburn fired a guy for Harsin.

I thought Pittman was a bad hire last year, but what he did with Arky last season was o of the better coaching jobs I’ve ever seen. The record may not show it, but Arkansas was way, way, way better than what they have been. Maybe Harsin will be like him. Boise State was a national ATL type program before Harsin took over. They disappeared with him at the charge. His staff isn’t impressive either. The old Vandy coach is the headliner.

Outside of Tuberville, Auburn coaches have a strong first season.

Auburn just doesn’t have much coming back besides the stud running back.
How can people say expanding the playoffs to 8 would better, yet going from 2 to 4 made it worse?

those people wanting to expand it are wrong. that would water it down even more. best fix would be to leave non conference games as open dates and then schedule games based on rankings and records as the season progresses. best of both worlds, but the playoffs are in the regular season. Plus, it’d be like a pop quiz. you’d have short time to prepare. would be mroe exciting. and someone would have homefield advantage.
That's so sad. Wonder what B1G fans are complaining about as they watch their one entree every year go to the playoff and the other 13 looking like roadkill? What about them ACC fans? Clemson and the 13 dwarfs? Don't forget Oklahoma as the only worthy combatant in among the special 10, every freakin year. Poor Pac 12, they don't have even the one special gladiator to brag about these days.

Poor, poor SEC fans have to watch the best TEAMs, with multiple championship pedigrees, in the most competitive conference in college football. Nor sure why any SEC fan has to be subjected to such persecution every year.

It’s still the best conference but it sucks watching it. I used to work 2 jobs but I could stay up all day and binge games. would never nod off. now, I can’t watch one game withoud passing out. College football sucks now.
It’s got worse since the expansion and the playoff. Wasn’t so bad before then. Since 2017 or so, I’m finding myself either turning games off hafway through or falling asleep. Never used to fall asleep. Just isn’t what it used to be. Way more exciting, the controversey of the BCS. Now people want more playoff games when the ones we already get are hardly any good. NFL is way better than college. Never thought I’d say that.

SEC has brought in some better coaches like Kiffin, Pittman, the guy at Missouri, and even Leach to a degree. I was impressed with what they did with the strange circumstances of this season. Jimbo also has A&M on the rise. Maybe he can take Malzahn’s place and steal a game or two from Saban.

Coaching has fell off a lot. You still have O and Kirby and Mullen, all mediocre coaches. And now the new guys at Auburn and South Carolina. Don’t see much upside with those guys either. Boise State was a national name before Harsin took over. Alabama’s offensive cooridinator and offensive line coaches are better than him, but he may surprise me. If Chizic and Orgeron can win natties, anyone can if they hit it right.

Ole Miss was a pretty entertaining team to watch last year. I followed them more than the others. Arkansas was fun to watch as well. The lesser teams are fun to watch duke it out. The margue matchups are usually duds.

I don’t look for it to get much better.

MWC also is a lot weaker when he was there. They lost Utah, BYU, and TCU. Auburn took the first guy that said yes.
Do away with the playoffs and leave the out of conference games as open dates. Have a committee pick the out of conference games in the season. They will be like playoff games in the season. Best of both worlds. The playoff has been a dud so far. There’s only been 3 good games out of the 12 first round games played.

That BYU/Coastal Carolina game is a good example.
Bo Nix should’ve been developed before he reached campus. His dad played at a high level and was coached under Jimbo. Pat Nix didn’t have the mechanical problems Nix has. He never corrected his son. He just let him rip out there. Now it’s catching up to him.
The better sec games this year have been between the lesser teams.
