At some point will people realize that what has been lost in the process is tragic?

He ain't wrong. The last thing we need is a University education for what we are accomplishing with players today. And it's the last thing they are getting.

Bastards like him started all this...Along with git shirts...medical redshirts...and paying them and giving them expensive stuff years before it was legal..When it became legal he tucked tail and ran...

And let's be honest... These kids are actually going to college. They are getting bullshite degrees online and spoon fed everything by personal tutors... If they are even taking their own classes.

Major colleges don't give one shite about a kid getting a education...The coaches that get paid millions don't give a shite about a kid walking across a stage to get a useless degree...

Me and my dad have been talking about this for years. They stopped being student athletes ages ago. They’ve dumbed down academic standards for athletes so much. No one wants to be Notre Dame. Football is too much of a money maker. Professors also in a tough spot. Who wants to flunk a star player who might be the difference in the Bama game?
Just make it a semi-pro league because that’s what it is now, but take the Wild West aspect out of it. Salary cap. TV money. Stop making them go to class, most of them don’t want to. Wouldn’t be surprised if most of these players can’t do long division. LSU isn’t exactly Harvard by any means but we all know many successful and brilliant people who paid for the opportunity to go to LSU or other state schools in the south. If you take it seriously, a free education at LSU is a gift.

But it sure was fine with every Bama fan when Bama was paying players under the table. Now that it’s legal and it has spread out talent across more teams, they don’t like it now

No he didn't.
People trying to stop Saban is what started all this. They kept making rules claiming and thinking it would hurt Saban and other top teams, but the opposite happened. Which was predictable, but dumb people who can't deal with reality need their excuses. Just like you with the cheating crap, just excuses so you can cope.
It was supposed to make it impossible for schools and coaches like Alabama when they allowed transfer rules. Got told repeatedly I was just mad because Alabama wouldn't be able to hoard talent and they would all transfer away. Instead, Alabama and others took top talent from lower schools and it made it even easier to process kids out when they didn't make it. You know, the kind of thing you needed medical red shirts and all that kind of crap to do before.
And still people like you don't know when to shut the frick up. You all ruin the shite because you have no basis in reality. As if your team is obviously the best ever and anyone else that's better must be cheating. And/or you need to make rules so your team can be competitive. frick off.

You are going to sit there and say with a straight face that Bama or Saban never laid a player before NIL?

If a player was paid, neither Bama nor Saban did it.
For someone who points the finger a lot, you sure are clueless on how those things work.

The last 4 NCs, are ALABAMA, Georgia, and Michigan.
Top 3 recruiting rankings, the last 4 years. ALABAMA, Georgia, and Ohio State.
Like usual for you, everything but the facts.

Love Saban but disagree on all this.
Leading 125 college kids in an extracurricular activity shouldn’t be a $10,000,000 gig either. Take whatever a professor makes and add to it for additional hours worked and that’s what they get paid. If they don’t like it, find a real job or go to the NFL. Thousands of coaches can teach sound schemes and fundamentals.
If we’re going to try to bring sanity to frickin’ college kids playing football, let’s do it across the board.

Johnny Manziel said in a interview that Alabama and LSU had bag men. Nick is a hypocrite. He has been cheating of day one. What has been done in secret will be shouted of the rooftops.

Sure it is. I think the record, BAMA 16 Tenn 1, gives it away.

Bama been paying players pre NIL, per former recruits own admissions:
-Antonio Cromartie, a former
FSU star, says Alabama offered him $60K to help it in recruiting while on probation
-Pat White, a former West Virginia recruit, is accusing of Alabama of offering him a Corvette when he was being recruited.
This comes on the heels of current Alabama
RB Derrick Henry posing in front of his brand new Dodge Challenger. Current head coach for Alabama, Nick Saban, was actually asked about the situation.
-Former Florida State defensive end Travis Johnson went on to be drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by Houston. Johnson said that the Crimson Tide offered him six figures during his recruitment and brought up the recruitment of Albert Means.
-O'Neal was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2018 and chose Texas A &M over Alabama.
He said that every Crimson Tide football player received a Dodge Charger upon their commitment while he was driving a Nissan
Maxima.
-Luther Davis(Bama)- The report cited text messages and financial records of former Alabama defensive end Luther Davis and an unnamed NFL source who said Davis was a go-between for the players with NFL agents and financial advisers. report named three NFL agents and three financial advisers who Yahoo said engaged in transactions totaling at least $45,550 with Davis between September 2011 and December 2012.
Davis, who played on Alabama's 2009 national championship team, declined to comment. records show Davis distributing at least $12,700 in cash, airfare and other expenses to the five players. The report included a 49-item invoice totaling $33,755 from February 2013 that Davis emailed to D.J Fluker's onetime financial adviser, Hodge Brahmbhatt.
There’s proof out there that Bama been doing this forever, but the NCAA has been turning a blind eye to. especially under Saban!

Meanwhile, Tenn is on NCAA probation. How's the rooftop up there?
