Their first seasons are the things that's most eerie and similar. 8-5 vs. 7-6. Georgia damn near lost to Nichols State and did lose to Vanderbilt, and Alabama lost to Louisiana-Monroe.

Saban didn't have to deal with a powerhouse UGA. UF was in decline after we beat them in the SEC Championship game.

They are indeed. Unlike some other Alabama fans, I love me some Kirby Smart. I obviously hated to see him defeat Alabama in the 2022 CFP NCG but I was definitely happy for him when he routed TCU in the CFP NCG this past January.

Well, Saban didn't have the benefit of being a Saban assistant.

Implying that Kirby is just getting started.

Saban went 14/14/13 in season 9-10-11 with 2 NCs. So, we'll see.

Both are top of the profession.
Remember when Coach Smart was looked at by Auburn? Rumor has it he wanted to know what if any sanctions were coming and he wanted complete authority to hire his own coaches. When those 2 items were not answered to suit him he said no thanks.

Sure, sure. Couldn't beat UT or LSU. Two teams that we destroyed but you were definitely gonna beat UGA's arse last year

I mean UGA has shown that it isn’t capable of beating Saban and Bama in Atl. Not as a soon to be national champs (2021) nor as the 2 time defending champions with a huge winning streak going.

It seems they just have Georgia’s number in Atl.

lone loss came in a season we beat them and our receiver corps was a triage center

If I had to guess, both UGA and Bama had injuries for every game they played.

"Saban is 5-1 vs. Kirby and two of those wins were with backup QBs. The lone loss came in a season we beat them and our receiver corps was a triage center."

Our receiver corps was a triage center in the SECCG game the other night, but you don't see any UGA fans on here whining like a little punk with chronic vaginosis like you.

I just realized that there are some decent, intelligent, adult Bama fans commenting on this thread. You are NOT one of them.

So Kirby is just using Georgia as a stepping stone and is going to have more success somewhere better?

Congrats on taking what should be seen as a complimentary post about Kirby and being so insecure, you make a reference that only makes sense if UGA football when Kirby took over is equivalent to Toledo and Michigan State coming off probation. Lol at you.

Kirby took over a strong blue blood in UGA. Mark Richt left Kirby in good hands.

Jesus Christ Alabama fans are insufferable. Melting over similar records posted and writing paragraphs to defend literally nothing.

They’re both great coaches. Clearly Saban is the best. My God y’all are the worst fanbase in any sport.

Saban and Bama seem to have everyone’s number lmao

He’s the greatest coach in the game for a reason.

So you're implying Toledo and Michigan State are on par with Georgia?

Interesting take.

I think he's implying that a coach in his first ever HC gig is going to be a bit greener and take some more lumps than a coach in year 12 on the job. I mean that's kinda common sense right?

For Kirby to be even close, let alone almost equal to, the best coach in the history of CFB, who's engineered the best dynasty in the history of CFB, and the #1 program in CFB history...as a first time head coach...I mean it's really remarkable. And just imagine if kirby didn't have the best coach of all time on the other sideline as many times as he's had.
