A reporter asks Saban, the self-declared king of college football about the recruiting process. Why would Saban know what Alabama offered Pat White? But, LSU was recruiting Pat White at the time and he could have spoken to the process, since he is the expert and everything and since he goes on ESPN every chance he gets to talk about the game.

He could have just answered it. Instead, he got defensive which tells me that he was probably offering stuff when he was at LSU and he is dirty now.

That is what Saban does. He blows up if he thinks he is being challenged. But, you are right. A sane person would not think that the question had anything to do with him at all. He could have answered objectively about recruiting.

Now, he doesn't want to talk about recruiting when it is all he wants to talk about at other times? Ok. Whatever.

Oh my God.

Everyone else is loving this and laughing about it.

You're legitimately mad.

Would've been a perfect opportunity to talk about how players can feel scorned during the recruiting process and make up lies to try to harm a program.
I think that would have been a worse answer.

Robin Masters Saban to Reporter: "Kiss my arse." Now the conversation is about Saban talking smack to a reporter instead of Pat Whites allegations. Saban is a master and you are all neophytes.

Of course it is. That is my point.

He does this on purpose to change the subject away from giving out cars to recruits.

But, he is too clever by half and it is pretty obvious what the diversion is all about. He doesn't want anyone snooping around his program, so he makes a spectacle of himself by shouting down a reporter and they all go running for the hills.

I never said Saban was stupid.

This is the only way for a coach to deal with something like this. There are no other reasonable options that will yield a favorable result for his employer. Bitching about this just proves you miss the big picture.

Doesn't want anyone snooping around? Saban has the NCAA and ESPN in his back pocket. Why do you think everyone quit talking about the DJ Fluker thing last year? It went away. Alabama is untouchable unless Saban pisses the wrong person off. The NCAA knows who daddy is.

You think that's going to stop someone from snooping around the program?

1. I didn't know that I was a reporter.

2. Why in the world would I be afraid of Saban?

3. Why do you have to be "tough" to not let him talk to you like you are a dog?

4. What is Saban going to do to anyone?

5. What makes standing up to the old blowhard a matter of "toughness?" It is simply a matter of being able to speak without swallowing your tongue in fear. I have no problem with that.

6. Why are you living vicariously through him?

I wish he'd do it more during pre game and halftime interviews.

Yeah. Pretty much.

No one wants to touch the cash cow and Saban knows it. So, he blusters his way through every challenge.

Do you think Alabama is clean?

frick no. We're "dirtier" than most. You don't have to talk to Saban to snoop around a program. If something Saban says makes a reporter stop digging for info, then that is a shite reporter.

I missed this the first time. Link to him ever declaring himself king? Mad LSU fans on the Rant seem to think he has more power than anybody.

Exactly. Next time you see him you should "call him on it".

Oh boy here we go. The reporter was a man. If that upset him he needs to rethink life.

Nothing?

Instead of caps, recruits should have toy cars offered by different schools and then pick one up indicating the winner. A Corvette, I am totally buying that, totally.

Can't blame Saban for that one. White was before Saban, so it's kind of pointless to bring it up to him.

Exactly. Dumbass reporter deserved it for asking Saban a question he has no idea how to even respond to.
