Gattis served as the wide receivers coach and passing-game coordinator at Penn State and hired by the BEST!

The move helps Saban with insight into the mind of Joe Moorhead. Moorhead's offense is considered one of the bests in all of college and he inherits one of the top offenses in the nation and a top 10 defense. Joe also recruited the best WR class Ms ST has ever signed.

These will be the top 2 teams in the SEC West. Bama get's them at home!

State ought to be a decent team.

should be able to finish at least in the top half of the West, IMO.

They will finish behind us.

I 100% believe that if we play Hurts, we lose to them. They are the only team in the west that concerns me.

We have the most players coming back on the 2-deep roster that I can remember. The glaring hole on the 2017 team was wide receiver. Malik Dear will be back, and we signed 3 good ones.

If Shoop is the Shoop from Vandy and PSU days, and if Moorhead gets his offense rolling, we could be a very good team.

The hire for Bama is actually a really good one. If anyone can understand Moorhead's flood routes, it would be this guy. I expect Bama to be much more fluid in the pass game than they were in 2017.

I thought that might be a reason Saban did this. Not a bad move by him.

Well you only lost 4 games. Those loses were to the #1 team, then the #1 team. BOTH of those teams played for a national title. Another lose to the only team that beat both of the teams that played for a the title.

The ole miss loss was on Dan and a gruesome injury.

I think everybody loses enough and MSU keeps and GAINS more than any other team. How many JUCOs did Mullen redshirt that will play on a 0 defense in the nation?

Mullen redshirted Chauncey Rivers (4 star DE) due to grade issues last year. He will be a starter on our defensive line. Also redshirted Brian Cole (JUCO transfer from Michigan - CB who was a high 4 star recruit in HS). He will likely have an impact with some CBs leaving. Probably still an upgrade since the CBs that are leaving weren't that good.

Is Michigan St joining the conference? Because your post makes at least a little sense that way.

Gattis went to Michigan State? Are you suggesting Saban already anticipates meeting them in next year's CFP?

Luckily there's an entirely new offensive coaching staff

no doubt but I don't think that QB is ever going to be a great passer.

but somebody had said that the MSU was awesome on offense last year...i didn't really see that.

Was early in the year and see the OP.

UGA played for NC. Auburn beat them.

MSU does not play UGA this year. Auburn won't be as good, and Msu returns most everybody and adds a lot.

Again... MSU will be #2 in the SEC west

i could see MSU being no. 2 in west but pretty hard to imagine they beat Alabama, especially at Bama. And the premise of this thread is Saban should be worried about MSU

don't get me wrong, I would love for MSU to beat Bama. I'm for anybody but Bama even Auburn and SC.
