The battle between Mobile's AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims to replace McElroy will draw most of the attention this spring and in the preseason.
"Quarterback is always a big, big concern," Saban said. "... I don't think it's ever good to have just one good quarterback on your team because if something happens to that guy, where does your team go from there?
"(McCarron and Sims) are both talented, but they both have to prove that they can go out and play winning football, and that comes to their decision-making, judgment and game management, not just their physical talent. The guy who can do that the best is going to be the guy who has the best opportunity to play."

That last quote about decision-making and game management makes me want to vomit.

I'm sure it does. Decision making is way overrated.

I think he would rather have a QB to just start slinging balls everywhere. To hell with decision-making.

Why don't you just call Saban and tell him that his decision making about qbs is unacceptable. I'm sure he'll listen. He's pretty new at this coaching thing and needs all the help he can get.

I posted the same thing on another thread. Favre has got to be one of his favorite QBs of all time. Screw decision making. I'll win the game myself or lose it myself. Screw managing the game.
