I like lou's idea of starting on the 40
it really doesn't matter and doesn't need to be changed. if you have a great d, you keep them out of the endzone. Then you score a t.d..
both parties have the same opportunity. there really isn't an advantage unless a coach doesn't believe in the kicking game. if he doesn't and the other does, then it's that coaches fault. He gets out coached for not having a kicker.
the current o.t. rule still requires both to play offense, defense, and special teams. L.S.U's defense, offense, and special teams out performed bama's in o.t. plain and simple.

I just think starting teams on the 25 is a ridiculous notion.
Never really thought about that, but I agree. They shouldn't start in FG range.

So Saban should shut up on his coaches show? He was asked a question and gave an answer
Well, if he wants to not seem like a butthurt bitch, he should wait until after the season to protest the CFB overtime system. not 6 days after he just lost the biggest game of the season in OT

You Bama fans have had it too easy. You guys don't even know what a flame is anymore.

So its about timing and not about what he thinks?

Oh really? You sure about that Nick? You shouldn't talk in absolutes. Aight.

42 yards is hardly a "gimme" FG for a non-scholly CFB PK.

in the NFL the winner of the flip wins about 57% of the time in CFB the winner of flip wins about 52% of the time.
Well it is actually 60% but my opinion stands either way, how can anyone who is a fan of sport on any level support a system that puts such a HUGE advantage on something as trivial as a flip of a coin?

I think he also said, "And, i believe the team should be able to break the huddle with 12 men during OT!"

Wow, he couldnt be more wrong, when referring to the NFL style overtime:
"One mistake won't cost you the game," he said.
complete BS. The NFL style OT is much less forgiving.
Oh wait. He's talking about his MISSED FG as the mistake.

Well, yea. Nobody cares what type of OT system he prefers. If you want to complain about its fairness, however, he could have done it during his numerous OT wins, or wait until after the season. Yes he was asked the question, but there is a thing called "coach speak" for a reason.
This just makes him come off like he is just whining because they lost.

Under the current system, it is a 42 yard field goal if you do nothing. Pis poor play selection and execution made Bama attempt a 52 yarder. Quit whining and go play Moo St.

So when asked he should lie until time has passed?

if it is what he truly thinks. you go to the n.f.l. rule and he gets beat because the other team won the coin flip and kicked a f.g., i'm not certain nick would not be advocating a fairness rule where the other team should get the ball.

He's just mad because Miles took him to the shed. Saban, get a clue, even NFL ppl don't like the overtime rule.

Frankly, I don't care that he said it. It doesn't bother me, but it definitely looks like a bit of sour grapes.
